Fourth suspicious fire in (SF's) Castro District reported

San Francisco Fire Department arson investigators are investigating a suspicious fire — the fourth in 24 hours — that was lit outside a house at 18th & Collingwood Streets in the Castro District early Friday morning.

Neighbors reported that the screen door of a Victorian house at 4220 18th Street was fully engulfed in flames when they were awaken by noise at 4:15 a.m.

The fire was extinguished by a neighbor who heard the noise before it could do extensive damage to the house.

The fire department’s arson investigators arrived on scene shortly after the blaze, which occurred 24 hours after 3 other suspicious fires engulfed 2 apartment buildings and damaged 1 complex in the Castro early Thursday morning.

Are these "distressed" "rent control" properties?

My guess is individuals under the age of 25.

Hmm.. I just remembered the porta-potty arson spree from last year... those seemed to just suddenly stop. :shrug:

I have no idea of who is behind this, or why, but I hope we've seen the last of it! Especially since it's the weekend.
