School Bus, Truck Collision Kills 3, Injures 60

CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. - Emergency crews in northern Mississippi are on the scene of an accident involving a school bus and an 18-wheel truck where as many as three people died and as many as 60 people were injured.

Calhoun County Highway Patrol spokesman Brian Mobley told CBS News there are three confirmed fatalities from the crash. Less than 10 people were taken to a hospital by ambulance and one person was airlifted to a hospital.

All other injuries are not life threatening.

CBS News affiliate WCBI-TV in Columbus, Miss., reports some of the 60 injuries were severe.

1. I can't imagine anything worse for a parent than hearing about something like that and not knowing..

...whether your child was safe.
