PHOENIX - A Colt revolver that was popular in the West in the late19th Century would be designated as Arizona's official state firearm under a new bill introduced in the Legislature.

The bill honoring the Colt single-action Army revolver was introduced Monday for consideration Tuesday by the Senate Appropriations Committee.

6. Maybe this is why Arizona legislature is ignoring Ruger - - >
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sturm,_Ruger#Controversy

After a spate of high profile shootings and incidents with the Ruger Mini-14 rifle,
along with the popularity the Mini 14 had gained with militias and extremist movements
during the late 1970s and 1980s, William B. Ruger expressed a highly unpopular position
(amongst firearms owners, users and enthusiasts) by stating his personal views on the
"sporting" nature of certain firearms. In his letter to members of the House and Senate
on 30 March 1989, Ruger stated (in what has come to be known as "The Ruger Letter"):

"The best way to address the firepower concern is therefore not to try to outlaw or
license many millions of older and perfectly legitimate firearms (which would be a
licensing effort of staggering proportions) but to prohibit the possession of high
capacity magazines. By a simple, complete, and unequivocal ban on large capacity magazines,
all the difficulty of defining "assault rifles" and "semi-automatic rifles" is eliminated.
The large capacity magazine itself, separate or attached to the firearm, becomes the
prohibited item. A single amendment to Federal firearms laws could prohibit their
possession or sale and would effectively implement these objectives."

In addition to the furor from the National Rifle Association caused by "The Ruger Letter",
Ruger made additional comments during an interview with NBC network's Tom Brokaw that
angered the NRA further, saying: "no honest man needs more than 10 rounds in any gun…"
and "I never meant for simple civilians to have my 20 and 30 round magazines…". It has
long been Ruger's policy to limit sales of those items to Law Enforcement or Military purchasers.

8. I've got an even better idea...
make it the only handgun that's legal to own. I don't believe they can make a thirty round cylinder that would fit!

9. I dunno. What are Mexican drug gangs buying at Arizona gun shows and gun shops?
The old Colt revolver seems outdated: one might want to go something that better represents Arizona today

12. golly. I want to go live in AZ. clearly it must be a true paradise if this
is the most important thing their legislature has to focus on.

They must have 100% employment, health care for all, brand new bridges/roads, every child graduating on time with a 3.5 GPA or better, all college graduates, no pollution or crime.

With all those problems solved it makes sense to start addressing these small, petty, inconsequential, useless, idiotic, issues.

#1 I agree with AZ.....they should seceed.....or at the very least, continue that border wall to the other 3 sides so AZ is COMPLETELY closed in (and make sure to have it go down at least 30 feet into the ground <50' would be better but 30 will do>, we don't want them tunneling out now, do we. Then they can all go relive the Shootout at the OK Corral everyday of their lives- well, at least until they run out of victims.

What a disgrace (the State Legislature - not the avg citizen).

Canada is looking better with each passing day.
