‘We won’t let happen in Minnesota what’s happening in Wisconsin’
Source: Workday Minnesota

By Barb Kucera, Workday editor

ST. PAUL - As hundreds of people jammed the state Capitol Tuesday in a show of solidarity with Wisconsin workers, they – and Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton – vowed to oppose the anti-labor agenda being pushed in many states.

“Drastic, extreme measures will not become law here,” declared Dayton, to thundering cheers in the Capitol rotunda. Added Lieutenant Governor Yvonne Prettner Solon: “We won’t let happen in Minnesota what’s happening in Wisconsin.”

People jammed the state Capitol Tuesday to show support for Wisconsin workers.
Firefighters, police officers and building trades workers mixed with public employees, nurses and other workers at the rally, organized by the Minnesota AFL-CIO to support Wisconsinites fighting Governor Scott Walker’s attack on collective bargaining.

They carried signs that read, “Workers rights are human rights,” and chanted, “Create jobs now!”

3. Nice!
So far, so great for my Governor!
He's got a republican state house around his neck and, yet, fightsd the good fight.
We will reward him by fixing that Republican thing ASAP.
:applause:

4. It is happening in Texas yet the media is not reporting it.
outside of the local news. School districts across the state are being forced to cut hundreds of millions. Massive layoffs are coming and this is just the begining.

Texas's huge budget deficit, about the size of Californias was an issue barely touched upon this last campaign season.

11. Minnesota missed it by 9000 votes
The ads that Tom Emmer ran were very similar to Scott Walker's in Wisconsin. We can thank Tom Horner and the MN Independence Party to help take moderate Republican votes away from Emmer which helped Mark Dayton win. Otherwise the Tea Party push last fall may have also steamrolled Minnesota. As radical as the MN Legislature is right now they know they cannot pull anything like is being pulled in Wisconsin with Dayton there.

12. Dayton will hold the line, but some very hard decisions are on the horizon. Like others,
Minnesota is in serious financial trouble. Serious. Corporations and the wealthy are going to have to pay more. And if we could only tax those damned churches.
