Political Circus: O'Donnell asked to dance
Source: CNN

Christine O'Donnell, the headline-grabbing former Republican U.S. Senate candidate, recently announced on her Facebook page that the producers of ABC's hit show "Dancing with the Stars" asked her to be a contestant on the upcoming season.

Calling it a "Facebook Exclusive," the Tea Party favorite wrote: "I just got the Official 'Ask' from Dancing With The Stars!! Although I am utterly flattered, my initial thought was to decline, as 2 year old nephew has more rhythm than me, and my two left feet!!"

The post had 231 "like" responses and 375 comments as of Wednesday morning.

"Do it. You will drive the liberal community insane," commented Edward Rush. Julie Dilworth Brewington wrote, "Would you really cheapen yourself enough to become a character of yourself?"

Christine O'Donnell dancing to The Eagles "Witchy Woman".

Delay danced, and then danced off to prison.

OK, I'm good with the precedent.

3. Why doesn't ABC just rename it "Dancing with the Baggers"?
What with DeLay, Palin, and now O'Donnell. And why doesn't someone define the term "star" for the producers?

:wtf:

6. The modern day Gong Show. Actually, all reality shows are the modern day Gong Show.
The difference being that The Gong Show occasionally showcased people who actually had talents.

7. The Ladies Of the GOP
(sorry for the sexist subject line, but I'm sure the GOP women would love it)

Palin: Head Grifter
Palin's daughter: born on 3rd base in a carny, thought she hit a double
Bachmann: Head Of Psychiatric Studies
O'Donnell: Head of Spelling
Schafly: hated the 60s (the 1760s), thinks the 1160s is right for America

8. The United Farce of America.
This is how seriously we take politics and our future.

Governors across the midwest, voted by We the Nosepicking Idiots, want nothing more than to turn the Rust Belt into a freezing, dying, church-flecked impoverished hellhole, and it pretty much looks like they're going to do it because Ohio has no recall law and we're too civil and weak to pull Bastille 2011.

Our political discourse is being dictated by a bunch of grizzled Fox-notized racists and fucked loons in three-corner hats with misspelled signs and contradictory/footshooting messages that remind one of a reverse revolution, one where the peasants rally in support of the aristocracy that shits on them.

We make presidents and governors out of actors, stars out of losing candidates, legends out of shitty presidents and heroes/authors/commentators/authorities out of White Collar thieves.

Our middle/working/poor classes think they're going to be rich someday, so they fight steadfastly to assure every one of THEM gets hurt rather than ask even one INCH of the wealthy that holds them under their boot.

To top it off, it looks as if our corporate leaders are going to realize their glacial but effective dream of getting the public to go along with their continued suppression of wages, elimination of benefits and triumphant return to the labor-crushing Gilded Age; all the while enhancing their coffers, controlling more and more of our local and national government and policy and leaving all pretense of a fair society on the cutting room floor.

The United Farce of America.

When will you goddamned sons of bitches WAKE UP??? YOU'RE BEING HAD. Played like a cheap Atari. Run over while getting pissed on and kicked in the teeth.

They're kicking your asses and you're paying THEIR salary, not the other way around.

12. +1
Unless your a really big Dancing with the "Stars" fan, why would you care? This isn't going to revive anyone's political career, and it lets repukes vote for these asshats (though the audience vote) in a way that doesn't affect anyone else.

33. Democratic Senator John Glenn is the closest I can think of.
Compared to bowtie boy, Tom Delay, Bristol Palin, and now Christine O'donnell. Dancing with Republicans has turned into another reason not to watch ABC, which they needed since they lost Stossel.

18. Now we see the REAL reason she ran for the senate....
Like her idol, Mooselini, O'Donnell just wants to personally profit from her perpetual runs for public office. The whole thing was pretty much an audition tape for her.

21. If this is indeed true, DWTS has lost at least one viewer this time around.
I admit it -- I like this show. I like seeing people with little to no dance experience learn, grow, and become competent on the floor because it's something I could never do. I enjoy it. That said, I am getting sick and tired of being force-fed politics -- especially in the form of the basest of political figures posing as "stars" -- on an entertainment show. Politics has no place here, especially when it comes in the form of such polarizing figures as the Palins and O'Donnell.

The cast is supposed to be announced Monday. I'd like to know how recent this "recent" Tweet is, because all sorts of speculation fly weeks and months prior -- it's really not until the 11th hour that rumors and Tweets take on any kind of credence. But knowing ABC, it wouldn't surprise me a bit.

24. "A character of yourself."
Good lord. If you ever wonder why people support someone as stupid as O'Donnell, your answer is that they are usually equally as stupid, if not moreso.

The word is "caricature," you frickin' dimwit.

32. What has this woman ever done for Delaware that warrants us to vote for her
This is what annoys me about this dingbat. She moves from New Jersey to Delaware just to benefit over the fact that Delaware senate races are about a third cheaper than New Jersey. She hardly lived in the state when she started running for office and using it to elevate her profile and enhance her bank account. This woman has never done one thing whatsoever to show us she's a part of our state, she's just using us as a stepping stone because honestly, this woman never really wanted to win the senate seat in the first place. She's saved about a million dollars from that last senate race and she's legally converting it to her payday by opening that PAC account.
