Police Association Urges Members To Sleep At Capitol
Source: CHANNEL3000.com

MADISON, Wis. -- The union representing about 11,000 police officers in Wisconsin is urging its members to camp out at the state Capitol with protesters.

Wisconsin Professional Police Association Executive Director Jim Palmer said the group is asking Gov. Scott Walker to allow protesters to continue their overnight demonstrations.

State officials voted Wednesday to remove protesters from offices and hearing rooms after Saturday's normal business hours. Law enforcement officials in the Capitol also decided on new restrictions on items and sleeping areas that will go into effect Friday at 4 p.m.

Palmer said Wisconsin's law enforcement community opposes Walker's bill that cuts collective bargaining for most state employees.

The Capitol will remain open Friday night.

I saw another thread citing Jim Palmer as saying they would be sleeping among their union brothers and sisters tonight. Almost got choked up.

Found it!

It had Palmer's email address in it. I sent him an email and he actually emailed me back just a few minutes ago - to say thanks!!! He said he was amazed how I heard about him from all the way out in California. I told him about the link above - from DU!

4. The television news in Northern Illinois says that
Walker wants them to clear the capitol building and close it tomorrow. I am worried about this. There are huge rallies planned for tomorrow in Madison, and around the country.
