Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, who is still believed to be at his residence in Sharm el-Sheikh, will be brought to Cairo next week for questioning in his corruption case, said Mustafa Bakri, a former member of parliament.

Bakri, who brought the case against Mubarak and other officials, was told of the development by the Prosecutor General's office on Thursday.

Attorney General Abdel Maguid Mahmoud issued an order freezing assets of Mubarak and his family on Monday and prohibited them from leaving the country.

Bakri, a member of Egypt's parliament who lost his seat after filing corruption cases against various officials, provided documents indicating Mubarak's family has secret bank accounts totaling more than 200 million Egyptian pounds ($147 million), according to EgyNews.

2. Mubarak hospitalized in Saudi Arabia, reports state press
http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/news/regions/middle-east/egypt/110302/mubarak-saudi-arabia

An Egyptian government daily says former dictator Hosni Mubarak has gone to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, for cancer treatment.

Speculation has mounted that former dictator Hosni Mubarak has left Egypt for Saudi Arabia to be treated for cancer.

The state-owned Egyptian newspaper Al-Akhbar reported Wednesday that Mubarak left his home in Egypt's Sharm el-Sheik and was being treated in a hospital in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, for colon and pancreatic cancer.

The report said Mubarak was receiving chemotherapy for an hour every five days and that his family was with him in the military wing of the hospital.

It would have been unthinkable for the government daily to run such a report before the February uprising as it would have needed official permission to cover Mubarak's health condition, reports the Jerusalem Post.

This report may or may not be true. SA is where Tunisia's Ben Ali went after being overthrown - a safe place for deposed dictators.

Mubarak not in Saudi Arabia, still in Sharm el-Sheikh: official

2011-03-03 20:15:23

RIYADH, March 3 (Xinhua) -- A senior Egyptian diplomat denied a report claimed that former President Hosni Mubarak is now in Saudi Arabia for a medical treatment, local daily Arab News reported on Thursday.

Nabeel Baker, spokesman for the Egyptian Embassy in Riyadh, asserted that Mubarak is still in Egypt's Red Sea resort of Sharm El-Sheikh.

Egypt's state-run Al-Akhbar newspaper said on Wednesday, citing informed sources, that Mubarak, who stepped down on Feb. 11 due to an 18-day protests, is currently in a military base in the Saudi city of Tabuk for treatment for colon and pancreatic cancer.

Egypt's top prosecutor slapped a travel ban on Mubarak and his family and froze all their assets.
