France on Alert and Taking Threats Seriously, Interior Minister Says
PARIS (AP) - The French government is on alert for terrorist threats and "leaving nothing to chance," the interior minister said Friday, a day after dozens of train and Metro stations were evacuated on a CIA tip.
The CIA contacted French authorities on Thursday, warning of an attack on Paris' commuter network, the RER, at the end of rush hour between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

But Interior Minister Dominique de Villepin said there were no "specific threats" against France. Information from credible sources was, however, being taken seriously.

Why should the French worry? They are not in Iraq and terrorism is all about getting the troops out of Iraq.

1. Maybe they are having terrorism
attacks and threats of attacks to convince them they need to commit to Iraq? But then, who would benefit from that and would it increase the safety of the French?
