US commander will not take blame for unrest (Abizaid)

America's top commander in Iraq has warned Washington that he will not be "the fall guy" if violence in the country worsens, it emerged yesterday, as word leaked out that US generals are "outraged" by their lack of soldiers.

hardheaded violent overreaction to "quickly crush" the uprising, except we are not prepared there for that kind of Sharon operation on that scale. Instead we will create only a bigger nightmare and ultimate defeat with no one on top of the local generals to plan otherwise.
