State Official Calls Capitol Protest 'Holocaust'

A Wisconsin agriculture official has described the Capitol protests as a "holocaust," saying new legislators got caught in a "horror story."
Ben Brancel is the secretary of the state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. He spoke in Madison on Wednesday to the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation.
He told attendees that the new lawmakers came to town with a lot of ideas, "and then they got stuck in the middle of a holocaust." He was referring to demonstrators who have swarmed the Capitol to protest an anti-union bill

9. Yes, either he is hiding under his desk in fear or he knows nothing
about the real holocaust. To compare the two is to insult the victims of the holocaust. But then rethugs don't believe half of history so it should not surprise us that they are so ignorant.

12. Glenn Beck uses it all of the time
sort of like he uses communism, fascism and socialism interchangeably, so they probably just added the word holocaust to mean "anything we don't like".

It's pure ignorance.

6. This bozo must have flunked history
The protests in Madison, WI were similar to the union protests 50+ years ago. And someone needs to tell this bozo that Hitler eliminated the German trade unions after he got into power, a la these Rethugican state senators and governor.

Personally, I feel that this nation is as polarized as it was on the eve of the American Civil War. I pray that we don't have armed violence but I also pray that Progressives and Democrats will rebuke these Rethugicans and fight back non-violently.

half of the gopers went to school to learn anything. How dumb. I pretty sure some Jewish groups will have comments concerning the use of word. Over 6 million people died during that perod and majority were Jews.
