Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali LarijaniIranian Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani has issued a warning over the foreign military invasion of Bahrain, describing it as a serious threat to regional and global security.

"Why should the Muslim people of Bahrain be attacked by foreign forces only because of their totally peaceful protest against the unjust measures of the ruling system and their call for participation in determining their own fate?" Larijani wrote in a letter to Edward Ssekandi, Chairman of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Member States.

"This is while, under numerous international treaties, the right to determine fate is among inalienable rights and no power is allowed to deprive any nation of such a right. Any kind of foreign invasion or meddling to repress protesters is interference in the domestic affairs and is a blatant violation of human rights."

2. Iran calls on Saudi Arabia, UAE to leave Bahrain "immediately"
Source: Xinhua News Agency.

2011-03-19 23:07:42

TEHRAN, March 19 (Xinhua) -- The National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iranian Parliament (Majlis) issued a statement in support of the Bahraini people and called on Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to leave Bahrain's soil immediately, the Satellite Press TV reported on Saturday.

"The oppressed people of Bahrain are a part of the Islamic world and the Islamic Republic of Iran feels obligated to support them," the statement was cited as saying on Saturday.

The United States is definitely responsible for the murder of Bahrainis by ordering its "regional mercenaries" to invade the country and repress peaceful protesters, the statement added.

The statement also called on the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to take serious actions on regional developments.

OIC at this moment hasn't made a statement yet on todays meeting on Libya.

3. The US will bomb Libya but leave the brave people of Bahrain to die at Saudi hands.
As usual, selective morality in America.

7. There's sectarian violence in Bahrain and IAE. Iran is supporting the Shiite Muslims.
Edited on Sat Mar-19-11 04:21 PM by ClarkUSA
Sunni Muslim rule both countries, so Iran would just love to widen its sphere of influence as it did when BushCo deposed Sunni Muslim Saddam Hussein. Iraq has turned into a Shia state whose de facto leader Moktada Al-Sadr is good friends with his sectarian violence-sponsor Iran, who supplied Shia forces with IEDs that killed American soldiers in the years prior to the end of the Iraq war. Now Al-Sadr is a member of the Iraqi parliament and is the power behind the throne, so to speak.

There is no way the United States will ever enable Iran. Besides, in Bahrain, the leadership is already calling for talks with the Shia opposition forces and the opposition forces have agreed to do it:

6. this isn`t being reported in the usa.
it directly effects the usa ,the 5th fleet ,and the balance of power in the middle east between the sunni`s and the shiites.this is far to complicated for the average tv news watcher in the usa.

9. EC Secretary Blasts Saudi Military Intervention in Bahrain
Source: Farsi News Agency

TEHRAN (FNA)- Secretary of Iran's Expediency Council Mohsen Rezayee lashed out at deployment of Saudi forces in Bahrain, saying the move is aimed at defending US troops in the Persian Gulf island.

"Saudi Arabia has fallen into the US trap and instead of using its military to defend the Muslim people of Palestine, it is attacking the Muslim people of Bahrain," Rezayee said.

"The Muslim army of Saudi Arabia has been dispatched to Bahrain to defend US troops and stop the uprising of the Muslim nation of Bahrain," he stated.

10. Iran says that the Saudi's shot at Bahrainians to protect the US military - and you post it????
Is that a credible claim? I don't think so

Two obvious reasons - I doubt heavily armed US forces felt threatened by unarmed protesters. If actually threatened, they would need Saudi forces to protect them.

Consider deleting this as both stupid and Iranian propaganda.

at the Senate Foreign Relations committee last Thursday. Clinton, as SoS, criticized the violence. But, IRAN made it an issue of the Saudis backing the US, which is ludicrous.
