A spokesman for Newt Gingrich says the former House speaker will announce Wednesday he is running for president.

Rick Tyler said Gingrich will make the announcement by Facebook and Twitter. He will give an interview to Fox News later that night.

Gingrich will offer his first speech as a presidential candidate at the Georgia Republican Party Convention on Friday.

5. What has Gingrich ever done that he hasn't fucked up?
Two marriages (and probably in the process of fucking up a third).

Being Speaker of the House.

His brief time in the spotlight as a presidential candidate should be a real hoot while it lasts.

I hope he doesn't flame out as fast as Trump did.

Gingrich is a fat, sweaty, hypocrite with huge personal morality questions. He may turn off an entire generation of voters from the Republican party.

25. In that case, the "wrecked families values" platform.
One of the planks is the "Divorce your sick wife" position. That will be key to gaining the support of misogynists and sociopaths everywhere.

every election, knowing full well he is not going
to win, but to spread his Libertarian Philosophy.
I would say it has served Paul Well.

19. He had better get a face lift and a hip replacement
I saw him in Virginia a couple of months back. He was looking older than his 67 years and was limping.
That, plus his, how should I say, rather colorful personal life, should preclude his getting in with
the God Squad, and his personal rantings, though his handlers will probably be pulling him back from
the deep end every time he tries to jump off by himself.

At least as fast an out of shape dough-boy can run.

Best news in a long time if he would be the actual nominee.

Can't think of any faster way to chase voters away from the GOP.

On the other hand, though, it would be unwise to underestimate the extent to which a sociopath will go to get what he wants. You know what that means.

39. aside from the conventional wisdom on the gingrich maggot -
which the other posters have laid out, in all its glory, WTF is it with these asshole politicians and -
a) having some tool of a flunky announce that they'll be announcing their candidacy on a future date? and,
b) with all the Facebook & Twitter media model?
shouldn't this dishonorable degenerate hypocrite be bloviating on his ego trip, at some inane Fox talk show desk? instead of inflicting his miserable self on circles that don't give a shit for his failing-grade intellect, morals, or appearance; and, in fact, probably hate the sight of him, or his righteous chicken-hawk spew. sheesh.
