Judge: Obama likely unaware at time that Blagojevich may have sought to exchange Senate seat
Source: Associated Press

CHICAGO — A federal judge in Chicago says there’s no evidence President Barack Obama knew in 2008 that then-Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich might have attempted to exchange an appointment to Obama’s vacated U.S. Senate seat for a top administration job.

Judge James Zagel made the comment Monday during Blagojevich’s corruption trial in denying a defense motion to see FBI interview notes with Obama.

1. Everyone knew how corrupt Blago was but
it was either vote for him or vote for crazy Judy Baar Topinka and it was really no choice what so ever.

5. Just finished a short book on crooked politics in Illinois.

It tried really hard to put a bipartisan face on it. But it still ended up being 125 pages of Republican crooks with a half dozen paragraphs about Democrats spread throughout the thing.

To be fair, this state has been controlled by Republicans throughout most of its existence. Kinda hard for Democrats to conduct illegal acts when they had no power to do so.

6. Was Pres. Obama on trial? Really inappropriate to drag his name into this, IMO.
