Armored Hummers shipment to Iraq instead of Israel
By ARIEH O'SULLIVAN

Israeli defense officials have agreed to a US request to divert a shipment of armored Hummer vehicles purchased for the IDF to Iraq where American soldiers need them urgently.

Defense officials in Tel Aviv said that the armored Hummers, known as UGRA jeeps, were part of a delivery of 120 vehicles Israel had purchased for IDF troops in the territories.
"Israel understands the operational needs of the Americans in Iraq," an official said.

Israel radio initially reported Wednesday that 37 of the diverted vehicles were the first batch of the shipment, but defense officials said this was inaccurate. Israel has reportedly purchased 120 of the Hummers with an option to purchase another 100.

1. Well, we ought to get them we paid for them.
We send Israel millions in aid each year with the stipulation that they use it to buy US military equipment. We gave them the money to buy those vehicles.

2. and if there were any terrorists
in Iraq, they were most likely Hamas, not al Qaida.

Now how about that body armor, who will give
our boys some kevlar?

3. I've been wondering about that.
I haven't heard any in depth reporting on who the "supposed" foreign fighters in Iraq are. The media is all over the place on their presence and numbers. The media seems to take their information from the Shrub administration instead of finding it out themselves. Hamas and Hezobolah have recently condemned the US because of Shrub's inept policy in dealing with the Palestinian/Isreali situation. I wouldn't be suprised if they were Hamas or Hezobolah instead of Al Queda.

besides, the Israeli assassin instructors can use them in Iraq!

And after they have secured Peace and Democracy in Iraq... the Israelis can just drive those hummers right back to Israel. Better yet, we can pay the Israelis RENT for the hummers...which we paid for in the first place.
