Kidnapped French journalist freed in Iraq

BAGHDAD (AFP) - French journalist Alexandre Jordanov, who was taken hostage south of Baghdad three days ago, was freed and was at the headquarters here of the Committee of Muslim Scholars, a French diplomat said.

"Mr. Jordanov is free," French charge d'affaires Franck Gellet said as he exited the office of the committee's secretary general, Sheikh Hareth al-Dari.

"He was released at the start of the afternoon, but Sheikh Dari did not specify the circumstances of his release. He is in good health," Gellet said.

1. Former Military Officer/CNN says plan is to releas "non-coalition"captives

but keep and capture those who are part of the coalition aiding the US.

It's a clever tactic. And, it goes along with the "Al Quaeda" plan which was revealed in the article "Swatting Flies" over at Salon.

They see this as a "domino effect" by causing countries supporting us to pull out. So far, Spain will be withdrawing troops after June 30th and Russia pulled out it's energy company workers. Japan also pulled out 70 something of it's aid workers, but that was only reported in one article in the Press. Soon it will be just US, GB and the Poles and a few Gherkas who are left to hold the country together. :-(
