Village Voice: Listening to the Translators (9/11, Edmonds and Mueller)
Listening to the Translators

Will the 9-11 Commission ask Mueller about Sibel Edmonds?

http://www.villagevoice.com/issues/0415/mondo10.php

WASHINGTON D.C.—For the Jersey Girls, the leaders of the 9-11 Family Steering Committee, a major turning point will come this afternoon when Robert Mueller, FBI chief, takes the oath and testifies before the 9-11 Commission.

Members of the group have been pushing the commission to bring forward FBI whistle-blowers who claim to have been privy to suppressed agency information that could shed light on the 9-11 attacks.

In particular they want the commission to closely question Mueller about Sibel Edmonds, a former FBI translator, who is openly challenging the agency's veracity in the 9-11 investigation. Attorney General John Ashcroft has put a gag order on Edmonds by making her internal complaint to the inspector general secret. Soon after she came out publicly, Edmonds was fired.

---

Mueller is testifying right now. Soon we'll find out if any of the commissioners have the guts to ask about this.

2. Yes, she has testified privately.
From what has been printed about it, she provided them with a huge amount of information and told them exactly where to look for the information she was talking about.

3. How wimpy!
9/11 Commissioner Richard ben Veniste just brought up the FBI translator issue, alluding to the Sibel Edmonds stuff, but didn't actually ask any questions about it to Mueller! Before starting his questions, he had an aside where he said there were some serious questions about FBI translator issues but this was not the time or venue to bring it up. But they would follow it up later. Mueller responded with something like, "Absolutely."

So they won't get Mueller under oath on any answers to any of this! What a bunch of friggin' wimpy whitewash losers!

5. I'm so saddened
people like Sibel Edmonds are the ones that are trying to "break through the wall" and they are not even heard. Of course, conviently there is an on going investigation so this isn't the time to bring it up. Ben-Veniste wants to keep his job and his power like everyone else, can't risk bringing up anything truly controversial because it would destroy this dog and pony show.

How sad for us all.

6. Incredible!
Right now, the 9/11 Commission actually ENDED EARLY with Mueller because none of the commissioners had anything else to ask him! And I swear, half the time, the "questions" were actually the commissioners all falling over themselves to say how much they loved Mueller and what a great job he is doing. It was sickening!

If you look even as the commission's staff reports, the FBI is one messed up institution, and Mueller is a big part of the problem. He's a coverup artist. John Kerry for instance noted how Mueller was instrumental in blocking the BCCI probe back in the early 90's. Yet the commission can't even think of anything to ask him.

This commission is going to make the Warren commission look good in comparison.

FBI Whistle-Blowers Go Unheard

9-11 Commission disregards survivor families' interests

WASHINGTON D.C.—Despite the best efforts of the Jersey Girls, leaders of the 9-11 Family Steering Committee, no member of the 9-11 commission this afternoon asked FBI chief Robert Mueller embarrassing questions about two former FBI translators who claim to have knowledge bearing on the attacks. One of them says she is being suppressed and can't talk because Attorney general John Ashcroft has placed a gag order on her.

Instead, the commissioners lauded Mueller for his running of the agency, which only yesterday they were bitterly attacking as incompetent and ineffective. Today one commissioner after another lavished praise on Mueller.

Commissioner Richard Ben-Veniste briefly alluded to accusations by the translators, and said he would pursue it in private.

In particular the Jersey Girls wanted the commission to closely question Mueller about Sibel Edmonds, a former FBI translator, who is openly challenging the agency's veracity in the 9-11 investigation. Attorney General John Ashcroft has put a gag order on Edmonds by making her internal complaint to the inspector general secret. Soon after she came out publicly, Edmonds was fired.

10. Paul, thank you for your timeline & all the work you've done so far
per an earlier thread, the Village Voice article probably never would have been printed or at least had much meat to its bones. The truth will get out with the help watchdogs like yourself.

13. Thanks
Yeah, I've been in touch with this reporter and turning him on to a few things. Maybe there are a few journalists out there openminded and willing to do some actual 9/11 reporting.

16. Windowdressing for the conspirators
With all due respect to the relatives of the 9/11 victims they are nothing but dupes sitting there with photos and personal mementos of deceased loved ones. By their presence they are giving credence to this sham. Ostensively this commision was set up to find the truth but is being used not only to bury the truth but to further the agenda of these neo-nazis. When are the suburbos of Amerika finally going to wake up? If they really had any respect for their departed loved ones instead of submissively sitting there like saps they should be kicking and screaming, protesting and hunger striking for the truth. If they would only realize the power they actually have.
