3. It is always good to view the situation from all sides
Faux has a dominant voice here in the US but at least the web gives us the news from international sites. This is a report from the eyes of the people who are actually in the fight with our soldiers. Sure it is biased, but at least it gives one a picture of how they see what is going on. And it gives us an indication of how much is going on that is not being reported.

4. better than Fox, actually
Fox relies too much on official military sources, and they almost certainly don't have a reporter in Fallugjah.

6. Mikey, we are not yet goosestepping Nazis.
We have the right to criticize our government without disappearing or being shot out of hand.

If Bush has another four years, that's something else that will go.

7. It took a lot of searching to find this one
It was frustrating not getting articles about what was happening in Iraq so I did some crazy googling to see if something was out there from alternate sites.

This is a view from their side and it is biased, of course. But look at all the things that happened which have not hit any news source!

11. These are indeed very useful reports
Edited on Wed Apr-14-04 09:57 PM by Aidoneus
I try to locate them whenever possible. That "daily feature" bit may be a problem.. Though Nasr seems to have switched to daily now that more is happening, previously they were available only every 3-4 days.

9. You mean they're NOT aggressors, invaders, and occupyers?
Edited on Wed Apr-14-04 09:53 PM by Aidoneus
What planet are you living on? Nasr has many dangerous but appealing qualities, foremost among them his disinterest in cloaking the unpleasant truth with the same lies and euphemisms that our own press brigade of eunuchs have mastered.

(I'm assuming you were employing dismissive sarcasm in attacking the report..?)

14. I reserve my spit for BushCo, our soldiers are just doing their job
You must not support our troops if you feel someone would spit on them.

21. Well, um.. well.. they kind of are.
Edited on Wed Apr-14-04 10:15 PM by Aidoneus
Minus the "kind of". Lately, on a daily basis. The mass graves they are leaving behind are far worse than the "spit" you refer to.

23. So, when moms and babies are shot dead by our troops
we should just shut up? No.

We are criticizing the military command for ordering/allowing these things to happen not the individual soldier.

10. Let's play Devil's Advocate
If you were in Falluja as a non-American and saw what was going on around you, might you not also use the word "aggressor"?

What's that old saying - "One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist".

How is what BushCo doing any different.

15. When I see our kids getting killed I see those killing them
I know who is to blame but the first concern of a soldier is those shooting at them. There's plenty of time to deal with politics when the shooting stops but a soldier deals in real time. I support the realtime that our soldiers are facing and despise any that try to harm them or support those that try to harm them in realtime.

Semper Fi!

BushCo's invasion is the thing that is killing our troops.

19. The first concern should be the question of 'why?'
Edited on Wed Apr-14-04 10:12 PM by Aidoneus
For example, "is it because I invaded and occupy their country?".. a few minutes of meditation on that and it may sink in:--"WHOAH! Wait a minute! I'm not the good guy here! This is wrong!"

24. You Know Something...
Edited on Wed Apr-14-04 10:20 PM by gulfcoastliberal
I am sick and tired of this goddamn BS about being a "blame-america firster", "un-american", etc because I want to know the truth. It is historic fact during war that what the military and media says is PROPAGANDA. The military initially reported it killed some 600 civilians in Fallujah. The next day it changed this to say, no, 95% of those killed were military aged men. This is a lie. They are also lying about how many of our guys are dying. I think it has been well over 100 despite the "official" tally of 90 or so.

I'm telling you I imagine myself both as an American and a native over there. I see both sides of the issue. This isn't black and white. What is happening is a horrible, awful, almost unspeakably violent thing. I believe many innocent women and children have died in our retaliation for the 4 Blackwater casualties. Think about it. Iraq is rapidly turning into a hellhole and we have the pResident and his circle-jerk of incompetents around him to blame. None, not one of them, have taken responsibility for ANYTHING. Hell, Condi said she wasn't responsible for our nations security and she's the NSA. This lawless, secretive, criminal gang in power are the anti-American ones. They are the ones wiping their asses with the constitution. And they must be stopped.

edit - spelling

27. My feelings exactly
And reading Riverbend's and Raed's blogs makes me feel so sad for what we are destroying over there. These are smart considerate people who are assets on this earth and we are destroying the society they love and are causing them such anguish.
