Gorelick: I won't quit 9/11 commission
Edited on Wed Apr-14-04 09:51 PM by JoFerret
http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=38047Clinton official rejects calls to resign amid allegations of conflict, cover-up

<<Jamie Gorelick – the former deputy attorney general under President Clinton and current 9-11 Commission member under fire for alleged conflict of interest – is rejecting calls that she step down from her position and become a witness.

"I'm not going to resign from the commission," Gorelick said on CNN tonight. "It's a bogus factual issue. When you ask hard questions of people who are in office and who have been in office, they take offense."

Her comments were in reaction to a call by House Judiciary Committee Chairman James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., who suggested she step down after revealing "her actions in establishing the heightened 'wall' prohibiting the sharing of intelligence information and criminal information" at the Justice Department.

"I believe the commission's work and independence will be fatally damaged by the continued participation of Ms. Gorelick as a commissioner," Sensenbrenner said. >>

3. And once again I would remind people that
WJC was able to foil multiple terrorist attack attempts intended to be staged on US soil during his tenure. If this wall was so awful, how diud his administration manage to do that? This is Bushit of the first order... blame anyone & everyone but make certain you take no responsibilty yourself.

6. Yes Sir, Congressman Sensenbrenner should be called down
on the floor of Congress and abolished harshly and then kicked out on his stupid ass.

5. Chairman Kean was on C-Span this morning
and was asked about Gorelick. He said all on the commission & staff have conflicts - they had simply agreed they would recuse from whatever area they had been involved in. He said (believe it or not) that Gorelick was the most well informed & helpful commissioner in the bunch.

7. I heard that, and the reason Kean wants to be quiet on this one is
because he has issues and could be called out for his connections with the Bush & Saudi families.

12. Senslessbrenner was sicced on Jamie by A$$hcroft, pure-and-simple
Fucking thin-skinned, hymn-wailing, sycophantic, Jesus-freak that he is. Did you see his leer when he disclosed the 1995 Gorlick memo in his testimony? He is a congenital, flaming, gaping asshole. He is out. He outed himself in his most partisan, of all the commission hearings, "testimony." Shame, shame, shame John Ashcroft. Shame on you, you vindictive hypocrit.

13. The wall business
is just another attempt by Ashcroft and the bushies to use anything Clinton as an excuse to take away the rights of Americans. Their solution was the patriot act. There no doubt needs to be changes in the way the FBI and CIA do business but one of the FBI's problems was Ashcroft and bush refusing to admit terrorism was a BIG problem because Clinton told them it was.

18. There wouldn't be anyone left on the commission...
...if everyone with a 'conflict of interest' quit.
