State: 105 still unaccounted for in Joplin tornado

JOPLIN, Mo. – The state of Missouri says the number of people still unaccounted for since the Joplin tornado is now at 105.

Missouri Department of Public Safety deputy director Andrea Spillars said Saturday that within that number, nine people have been reported dead by their families, but state officials are working to confirm.

A city spokeswoman said earlier Saturday that the death toll had risen to 139. . .

I wonder if Joplin will ever recover. Sadly, I also read that they have recovered the body of the recent high school grad sucked through the sun roof of his car while his father tried to hold on to him. I simply can't imagine what they must be going through.

Some folks were inevitably ground into meal which has been consumed by birds and bugs.

No trace of them will ever be found.

I was shocked to see those houses built on slabs - no basements. No chance.
