EDINBURG — An Edinburg soldier died early Wednesday after being ambushed in Fallujah, his family confirmed Wednesday evening. Sgt. Christopher Ramirez, 34, of Edinburg had been in the United States Army for the past 14 years, and originally was supposed to retire last December, his brother Eugene Ramirez said. Instead, his tour was extended another year.
