(Florida TV) Reporter accused of 'doctor shopping' (Arrested)

Ch. 28 investigative reporter Mike Mason was arrested Wednesday on charges that he visited numerous doctors in order to obtain multiple prescriptions for opiate-based painkillers.

The practice, known as "doctor shopping," is a third-degree felony in Florida, punishable by as much as five years in prison.

Mason, 31, faces eight counts of obtaining drugs from a physician by withholding information.

Investigators say he made at least 34 visits to 14 different doctors between November 2002 and November 2003. They say he obtained prescriptions for at least 2,400 painkiller pills, such as hydrocodone and OxyContin.

So this guy gets arrested and Limbaugh is still free? When are they going to bust Rush?

10. Not the point I was making
I'm glad it happened because it will put a spotlight on the hypocrisy.... Hey..the dudes Doctor shopping and that's illegal... If he didn't get busted for it he may continue using and end up in the gutter...So again...I'm glad it happened for the guys sake.

9. Fuck the war on drugs, in all its forms
Now this obviously functional, upstanding citizen is going to jail for years because he wanted to get high or is addicted. What is so hard about letting adults make decisions for themselves. Why does our country spend so much money trying to "save" people from themselves.

The guy must be a minority...just a guess. He also must be not wealthy. He also must be a Democrat.

I would love to be proven wrong about any or all suppositions. If any one of these is wrong than Rush stands a good chance of being indicted.
