Barbara Walters still has Rep. Anthony Weiner's back - and she's impressed with his front, too.

On her show Thursday, the veteran journalist and "The View" co-host called the scandal-embroiled congressman's full frontal, X-rated photo flattering.

And she's standing by her man. She later insisted to MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell that Weiner shouldn't resign because he's an effective congressman.

I'm glad she has spoken up for Anthony Weiner. So far, there is no evidence that he hurt anyone. His pictures were, at worst, a bad joke.

I don't think Wiener should resign, but it's inaccurate to say somebody cooked up the scandal, when he himself created it. He knew RW'ers are dying to take him down, yet he did stupid crap online, anyway. We tell our teens not to do stuff like that, because it can hurt their careers in the future...yet this grown man, with known enemies, does the exact same thing.

It's not a phony scandal, just another example of the stupidity of Democrats who think they're invincible.

And "pearl clutcher" is a really sexist term, given that men don't wear pearls. You have the right to your opinion, but you DON'T have the right to insult women on a Democratic board.

He's my senator and he is requesting Anthony Weiner resign. I told him that Weiner has been a good progressive who stood up for our values and we shouldn't abandon him now. I think Anthony will fight even harder in Congress to vindicate himself. Keep out of it Pat

Staying in office and dealing with his (Weiner's) shortcomings (or, perhaps not), would put the Republican family values S.O.B.'s on alert that their hypocrisy and partisan approach to the Weiner scandal is so ludicrous on paper as to question why they would demand his resignation when they have FAR more egregious acts on their side in the likes of Vitter, let alone Gringrich during the Clinton scandals (Foley, blah, blah, blah), and all those other past Republican prosecutors who served their partisan Gods while simultaneously committing acts against their very beliefs.

Unfortunately, that "liberal" media won't call them out on their BS. Rachael Maddow is the only one, IMHO, who is the most forthright and truthful in her obvious comparisons when it comes to the two parties and their sexual trists.
