"Indiana Planned Parenthood to Drop Medicaid Patients" Rueters
Edited on Mon Jun-20-11 07:28 PM by BeHereNow
Source: Rueters

"The Medicaid funds stopped May 11, the day Republican Governor Mitch Daniels signed a law that restricts abortions and cuts federal funding to Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood performs abortions, but even before the Indiana law passed, federal money could not be used to pay for abortions. Indiana cut Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood that covers other reproductive health services, including contraception and cancer screening.

After Monday, PPIN said it will have run out of the donations it used to pay for existing Medicaid patients after the bill made national news."

Idiots.

As I posted in another thread:

Talk about a really BAD idea, and yet those in Indiana who think this was somehow
going to stop their tax dollars going to pay for abortion, (which they never did, but who has time
to learn the FACTS... Right?) have not considered how the spread of undetected STDs will rise,
the costs of end of life care for undetected female cancers, breast, cervical and ovarian, to name a few,
will impact their burden in healthcare costs for uninsured, untreated patients-

And just wait till the women who depend on PP for birth control methods start
filling the schools with children dependent on the state for food, education and other needs.

If this legislation is not a case study of complete ignorance, then I don't know what is.

1. Why do they hate poor women.....

3. The only possibilities I can think of are these:
Perhaps they are hoping more poor will die off from undetected cancers, or that
more STDs will be spread and therefore contaminate more people and kill them off.
Or perhaps they want to assure of a continuous supply of children born into poverty
who will have no choice but to join the military later to fight for the multi-national elite?

I don't know- I really don't.

As far as your question about why any thinking woman, or person would support
this inhumanity towards humanity... there is no explanation.

Ignorance?

2. Please donate to Planned Parenthood
Believe me, this is the only way some women can obtain reliable birth control at a decent rate. If social conservatives only knew the price tag of denying women free birth control they would have free birth control kiosks in every high school in every state. Jeez the ignorance hurts

4. Well that is the part that doesn't make any sense, does it?
"If social conservatives only knew the price tag of denying women free birth control..."

The lack of critical thinking is absolutely absent in this situation.

All that seems to drive them is their sense of righteous indignation.

How dare my tax dollars be used for abortion?!?!?!? (Even though they never were...)
And then later they cry,
"How come so many people are on food stamps? How come I have pay for school lunches for homeless kids?"

Uh, maybe because their mothers didn't have access to birth control?

The bottom line is these assholes are completely ignorant.
They cry to protect the unborn, and then completely ignore the
kids who are already here in desperate need.

And later they will complain about paying/caring for women who are dying
of diseases that may have been detected early were those women screened at
the local Planned Parenthood.

5. It IS a very bad idea, what they're doing to PP.
I would truly like to hear some coherent right-winger (if such exists!) explain their POV.

I doubt it can be done, but still, I'd like to hear them try.

Recommended.

7. They can't explain it...
All they can do is spew rhetoric.
But you can learn it too!

6. I support Planned Parenthood
My mom used to voluteer there when I was a kid. It was in downtown Baltimore. I spent many mornings down there doing stapling and filing for them. At the time, I had no idea what a valuable organization it is, I just remember everyone being really nice to me.

My main charity has always been Meals on Wheels but when the Republicans put Planned Parenthood on their hit list, I added Planned Parenthood to my own list. And here's something for you lurking trolls, I also put Planned Parenthood in my will. And I'm pretty well off.

It just burns me up that these...ideologues... are willing to harm so many people for votes. VOTES!

8. And the irony is...
The good x-tians who want to shut down PP probably are not aware
that their teen aged children depend on PP for birth control and STD screenings too.

They could never imagine that their sweet little Susie was having SEX.
Most of them are in complete denial about their children's activities
outside of their homes. Who is it that can afford cocaine?
Young, WHITE, rich kids with fat, pasty, white, church going parents.

Same goes for abortions. No one ever talks about the economic reality
behind who is having abortions and buying coke.
Certainly not young poverty line kids without the means or access to health care.
OH, the hypocrisy of these fucktards.

Also, there are so many uninsured college aged young women who depend on PP
because they are stuck in jobs that offer no benefits.

What has happened in Indiana is a crime against humanity.

12. Until the Healthcare Reform Act, my daughter depended on them too.
Now that she is 24, she is covered under our insurance again-
but most of her friends still depend on free clinics and PP.

The assault on our citizens is mind-blowing.

Until the good x-tians who support harming the least among them
steps up to care for those in need, I want them to shut-up and sit down.
Go back to their bible study groups and try to practice what Jesus taught.
Other wise, they are simply hypocrites and "morans" in my book.

15. I have had a lot of experience with Medicaid and doctors can be
paid for all services except abortions for poor women - at least in MN, IA and NE. If my experience is correct then this action will leave Planned Parenthood more money from other sources to help women who do not get Medicaid.

I'm disturbed by the level of hatred towards women who rely on PP and medicaid
expressed in the comment section.

and I'm noticing over there that it's becoming even more organized (read: Astroturfed and ASSociated Content Inc paid trolls). Exact same copy pasta talking point phrases posted simultaneously by multiple posters, so it's not just the 1 or 2 shitbags with 10 socks apiece any more.

Their portrayal of sexually active females as insatiable, voracious, amoral sexual predators who are to blame for all the ills of the world because THEY "spread their legs" (as if males are NOT the gender that is more inclined towards thinking every waking moment about getting laid) is such disgustingly transparent projection, and clearly reveals the intentions of the Fundamentalist Dominionist Christo-Fascist Taliban that supports these douchenozzles.
