WALKER: PROSSER CHOKING SCANDAL IS ‘EXTREMELY SERIOUS’

WALKER: PROSSER CHOKING SCANDAL IS ‘EXTREMELY SERIOUS’ | In an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s editorial board, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) called the recent scandal in which state Supreme Court Justice David Prosser allegedly grabbed another justice around the neck an “extremely serious” matter. Walker noted that the state is investigating it and said it would be inappropriate for him to “prejudge” Prosser. “But what I hear, if it’s true, obviously is extremely serious,” Walker said. “Even if it’s not the truth, but is somewhere in between the two, it is still a serious matter of grave concern, not just to me, but it should be for anybody in the state.” Watch Walker’s full answer:

7. Yeah, that's my reaction: Prosser is going under the bus.
And he's unlucky that it's not Sarah Palin's bus, which would only run him over half way. ;-)

10. That was most likely a prelude to Walker's state police charging Bradley with assault
Edited on Wed Jun-29-11 05:41 PM by kenny blankenship
"It's very serious, and we don't take these things lightly in Wisconsin." Governor Walker said speaking to reporters outside the Justices' chambers. Then lifted his bullhorn and addressed his policemen, who darkened the halls with their impressive SWAT uniforms and gleaming equipment, "You have your orders - take her away. If you encounter any resistance, don't hesitate!"

31. That's how I read Walker's statement - as accusing Bradley!
With Walker, I have a cringe factor - anything I presume to believe, that must mean that Walker is coming at it from a completely 180 degree opposite position.

So since I believe Prosser should be toast, in all actuality Walker really is indicating that Bradley is toast.

16. You mean what we read is not this "full answer?"
“But what I hear, if it’s true, obviously is extremely serious,” Walker said. “Even if it’s not the truth, but is somewhere in between the two, it is still a serious matter of grave concern, not just to me, but it should be for anybody in the state.”

This statement seems to ramble on. I mean, maybe his full answer is something like:

But what I hear, if it’s true and not false or maybe true in the middle or maybe a little to one side or the other, obviously is extremely serious, or maybe not so obvious but rather somewhat suggested or rather a little more obvious than suggested,” Walker said. “Even if it’s not the truth, but is somewhere in between the two, and even if the truth is leaning toward one side or the other as I suggested, it is still a serious matter of grave concern or a grave matter of serous concern, not just to me but to others as well, well, maybe more to others or maybe to others in between me and the others, maybe folks closer to me but probably more to the others, but it should be for anybody in the state, and that includes our city and our county, and even our school district, and maybe water district, too.

32. This is all a play to get Abrahamson shitcanned as Chief Justice
You can tell from this line: "Even if it’s not the truth, but is somewhere in between the two, it is still a serious matter of grave concern, not just to me, but it should be for anybody in the state.”

Translation: Both Prosser and Bradley are at fault, but the real fault lies with Chief Justice Abrahamson for letting her court get so out of control. She should resign immediately.

That's the play here.

I really am worried about this statement. Walker always takes shit off into a new tangent and I am near-certain this is a slam on Bradley, not Prosser.

49. I know that I do not trust him, not a bit. I too wonder who he is trying to take
down. But really, I do not have to wonder--its Shirley Abrahaman -the Chief Justice who he wants out. Prosser is too important to him. After all, Prosser voted to eliminate collective bargaining for Walker. And it seems Prosser was pushing to get it out before they had to add it to the budget bill. I am not at all sure that the
Repups had the votes to pass it again.

39. Sounds like he's got a way to get an even more
conservative judge on the court.

If Prosser is losing it that fast, that he goes off like he has been, I'm thinking he's beginning to feel guilty about what they are doing. Or just figured it out and is sickened at being a part of it. Either way, Walker can't afford having someone in his position, blowing it.

and appoint someone else while they are still in charge. In Walker's mind it will make him look evenhanded to the public. Anything else makes them look like they support violence against judges.
