4. What Would You
expect them to say? "George Bush has dealt us a crippling blow and we are withering away to nothing."?

I don't believe their threats any more than I ever believed Saddam's. The more these guys posture, the weaker they seem to be. You didn't hear any threats on 9/10, did you?

5. Good point ! And ...
... with the Saudi connections to 9/11 about to hit daylight, could this be another piece of KKKarl's works of distraction .... "Quick, America - get your duct tape ! Hide ! Boo ! Osama's gonna get you !"

???

6. Its possible
Its hard to say though. I hate to underestimate a group that is so convicted they give up their lives to the cause.

8. Wag the dog is correct
It is the only way King George can not get blamed for the coming depression.

9. It's only 'Wag the Dog' except for the fact that real people die
Make no mistake. There are people in Al Qaeda who would love to kill us, regardless of the connection to the current Admin. Whatever deals they may have made, they still ultimately want to destroy us. You don't think they wanna do something worse than dropping two large buildings. There's real hate there.

10. When I first started reading up on
the players in this struggle, my first impression was this was the fallout from a business deal gone bad. After some time I discounted that theory, but now it seems maybe my first impression was right.

17. Good catch, maggrwaggr, on the 'make no mistake'
I know a winger who in emails to me uses it to start shutting down a discussion. When he did it the first time, I thought damn, even Junior's phrases are seeping into their minds. Then I remembered that when Junior first used it, it immediately brought up a mental image of Richard Nixon. He used that meme too. Of course we all know what became of his presidency.

16. seems to me as though Osama is the LAST person Rove wants us to
think about.

It could bring up some embarrassing questions about old Dead-or-Alive Bonehead and the status of a certain individual he promised us he'd capture ...

15. Well, the Bush Regime's leader postures and threatens...
...and he really follows through and kills people (actually he has his people kill for him). So, I suppose these "guys" could follow through, too.

14. Does Al Qaeda even really exist??
Was that name ever mentioned before the Reichstag II operation commonly called "9-11"??

Granted, there is an Osama Bin Laden, and he IS a terrorist.

Just like the Bush Criminal Empire trained him to be.

And he could be collaborating with other like minded fanatics, that is certainly possible.

But does he really have a huge world wide network of crazed Muslim supercriminal terrorists at his disposal, or is this just more BCE fear culture bullshit?

Can anybody find a mention of Al Qaeda before Selection 2000?

18. Sure, Al Queda is in this '99 Annual State Dept report
Edited on Sun Aug-03-03 12:58 AM by gbwarming
http://usinfo.state.gov/topical/pol/terror/fto1999.htm

<snip>
Addition:

Al-Qaida, led by Usama bin Ladin, was added because it is responsible for several major terrorist attacks, including the August 1998 bombings of the U.S. embassies in Nairobi, Kenya and Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
<snip>

Anybody know why there are so many spelling variations for OBL (UBL?)?
