Ex-Iowa first lady running for Congress

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Former Iowa first lady Christie Vilsack will enter the Iowa 4th District congressional race Tuesday.

Late Friday, a prominent Democratic Party source with knowledge of Vilsack’s plans told the Sioux City Journal that she will announce her candidacy on Tuesday. The decision likely will set off one of the most contentious and expensive congressional campaigns of the 2012 election cycle.

Woodbury County Democratic Party Chairman Dave Somsky confirmed Vilsack will visit Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City on Tuesday for a major campaign announcement. She is also expected to make appearances elsewhere in the district.

“I would expect her to run, with all the work and time she’s put into it,” Somsky said.

3. Even if that turns out to be the case...
..she'd be a much better choice than that south end of a north bound horse Steve King.

and the lady who answered the phone, was as sweet and clueless as they come.

She was talking communism, until I pointed out that China basically owns us and they are communist.
Then she hit on the abortion issue, and then Congressman King's desire to get rid of The Federal Reserve.
All I wanted was to talk about was the debt crisis.

13. I wonder if he'll think that he's above having to debate Mrs. Vilsack...
That pig usually pulls that stunt where he goes around saying he's above debating his opponents. Hopefully Vilsack won't let him get away with that.
