Japan plans to ban Fukushima beef
Source: BBC News

Japan's government is set to suspend all cattle shipments from Fukushima as concerns over radiation-tainted beef escalate.

Senior Vice Health Minister, Kohei Otsuka, said beef from surrounding areas may also be affected.

It comes after 136 cows were found to have consumed feed affected by radioactive cesium.

This is the latest health scare connected to the Fukushima Daiichi power plant damaged by the earthquake.

1. So how long can you eat radioactive beef before it affects you?
Old poops like myself might eat some of that Fukishima beef if we could be sure that it would take ten or more years to start poisoning us.

5. Some of the immune system effects can show up in a year or two,
mostly in younger individuals. I think it took about five years for the cancers to show up in St. George. That was from direct exposure.
