Ohio lawmaker quits after drunken-driving scandal

An embattled Cincinnati-area state representative quit Sunday afternoon, caught up in controversy after being arrested for drunken driving in Indiana with a stripper in his car and Viagra in his system.
By making his resignation effective Aug. 2, Robert Mecklenborg, R-Green Township, ensured himself that he will be paid for all of July; if he had quit this month, his legislative salary would have been prorated. He also gets a bit more from the state retirement system.
"My recent actions have become a distraction to the additional important work that lies ahead for the members of the 129th General Assembly. Therefore, it is with a heavy heart that I resign from the Ohio House of Representatives," the married father of three said in a statement Monday.

so, he makes the ultimate sacrifice. The people of OH really need decent representation in the legislature which is dominated by repug HOGS.

that passed in Ohio requiring a photo ID to vote. They took his license away so, looks like he would have a hard time voting in Ohio.

he was elected, introduced and passed legislation that disenfranchises voters, and leaves with a generous pension in a blaze of drunken glory. They don't even pretend anymore. The masks are off, but the sheep continue grazing and don't look up.

The DWI was incriminating, the stripper in the car was scandalous, but the Weenie Enhancing Drug (WED) in the blood is embarrassing.

I don't feel sorry for the guy, but that's just funny.

I wonder how many Republicans take WEDs?
