Salazar opens state tour, targets Coors
AG contrasts himself with GOP 'aristocrat'

By Mark P. Couch
Denver Post Staff Writer

Post / Glen Martin
Attorney General Ken Salazar, a Democratic
candidate for the U.S. Senate, addresses the
crowd at Alberto’s Restaurant in Greeley.
Salazar opened his 64-county tour Friday by
calling GOP hopeful Peter Coors out of touch
with the concerns of most people.

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Ken Salazar launched his statewide tour Friday with a populist swipe at one of his Republican rivals.

Shortly after sunrise, the Colorado attorney general rumbled into Fort Collins in his 10-year-old pickup and painted GOP candidate Peter Coors, heir to a beer-brewing fortune, as an "aristocrat."

"I want to take the values of what I consider to be Main Street Colorado all the way to the United States Senate so that we can have a voice of the ordinary American once again in the United States Senate," Salazar said.

1. Glad to see our man is out there early defining the issues.
If he can get people to see Coors as an aristocrat then ol' Pete is finished.

"Main Street Colorado" is going to play well too.

Coloradans, what's your impression of our chances of moving CO over to the "blue" side of things this November?

6. I think we'll pick up this senate seat
although I think the chances are 50-50 on Kerry picking up Colorado.

5. Pro-German, anti-Semitism?
Never heard any stories about that, but considering Prescott Bush's infatuation with the Reich I wouldn't be surprised. Please enlighten us all...

7. Coors Family History
I've read several articles over the years that the Coors family was heavily involved in the Bundist movement (pro-German, Pro-Nazi) during the 30's. Jews were prohibited from working for the company (verfied by my late Uncle who lived in Denver for 60 years) and there were indications that the family was part of the Oddessa network.

It's well known that the Coors are big NRA supporters and have thrown lots of money around for Right Wing causes.

I'm not as google smart as others here, but I'm certain it wouldn't take much to find articles on the net about this.
