US man charged over (27 million) Facebook spam (messages) turns himself in

A US man charged with sending more than 27 million spam messages to Facebook users has turned himself in.

Sanford Wallace, who is known as the "Spam King", surrendered to FBI agents in California.

Prosecutors allege he developed a program that breached Facebook spam filters and lured users to submit their account details.

Mr Wallace denies the charges, which carry prison sentences of up to 10 years.

1. Geez...Sanford Wallace? Haven't heard that name in YEARS. Can't believe he was still spamming....

what a fucking asshat. He should get 10 years for EACH message sent!!

2. I'd be content with one minute for each message sent

27 million messages=27 million minutes
=450,000 hours
=18,750 days
=about 51 years, 4 months :)

Far likelier to pass the Eighth Amendment smell test, too, given it'd take about a minute to go through and delete each message, hardly "cruel or unusual" :)
