Lieberman defends Iraq War(CNN-Wolf)
"Because Saddam was a brutal dictator, there are mass graves and Saddam had plans to dominate the Arab world"

"We saw the Iraq threat through the prism of 9/11" (here he is repeating Paul Wolfowitz word for word like a parrot).

17. Let's try something
Let's substitute Israel for "the Vatican" and then Lieberman" with "JFK". And let's assume it's 1959-1960.

But this goes to show that Lieberman's religion plays a role in some people disliking him.

He didn't support Gore's recount. A vice-presidential candidate is suppose to support the party's presidential nominee on an issue like that.

22. I saw that, too. My sentiments exactly.
The war was NOT justified, Joe.

Notice how he didn't even say the word "lie." "The pResident just oversold the case and he didn't have to." Good GAWD. Oversold the case my ASS.

I'd HATE to think it'd come to the point next summer where we'd all have to hold our nose and vote for THAT schmuck. In that case, unfortunately, more people would go Green, and more people would see no reason not to vote for bush, because there's no visible difference between him and Lieberman. It's a guaranteed lose-lose proposition. I hope his campaign stays on the skids. Sooner or later hopefully he'll realize it and put it out of its misery (and ours).

8. To all the people here who ask "what's wrong with Lieberman"
There's your answer.

A war built on lies that not only has caused and is still causing death and misery, but has severely damaged our relationships with other governments and our standing in the world, hurt the effort against Al Qeada, and set a scary precedent of pre-emptive invasion - and its all fine with joe.

I hope he comes in dead last in every primary until he drops out.

41. Well, I condemn the deletion
I think the spectre of rising anti-semitism among the new left is something that needs to be dealt with head-on, and that simply isn't possible when these anti-semitic posts are deleted. I'd much rather have these posts stand as a constant reminder to those who choose to defend the new left at all costs.

know Joseph Lieberman (my wife taught his daughters in elementary school) and I cant stand him either. Next time I see him (saw him a couple months back in a restaurant) I will let him have it. It's sick that we have soldiers dieing everyday in Iraq because of lies by Bush and Lieberman supports the bastard pResident. I think if his daughters were in Iraq now and in the military he would have a different opinion. But because of his whacked out politics it's okay for others to drop dead on the battlefield because of Bush lies.

36. Lieberman is a trojan horse within the democratic party
He claims that the war on Iraq was a just war.On what grounds, he would not say. I guess he will say that arab terrorists would be detrred from carrying out terror acts in Israel. On ething he forgets to mention is that the Palestinians are not terrorists, they are carrying out a war of national liberation ( Intifada) against Israel.
It is one of the great achievements of the Jewish lobby within the U.S. to demonize the arabs and to characterize every act of resistance against Israeli occupation a "terrorist"act.

Now here comes Lieberman and the PNAC gang making Israel's never ending wars against just about every arab America's war and then having the gall to call it a just war. In this propaganda war they now allies such as Bush ( an overgrown child with low ego and self esteem bent on seeking revenge for his Dad's defeat), the right wing imperialists (Cheney and Rumsfeld), British imperialist revivalists( Blair, Straw, Hoon) and the ever unctuous Christian crusaders
( Robertson, Falwell, Graham). In this disgraceful charade for world hegemony, the price is being paid by America's poor ( white, black and hispanic) and of course, the innocent Iraqi civilians.
If this was such a moral and just war, why are Israeli soldiers not
patrolling the streets of Baghdad and bearing some of the costs of this war?Would like to hear from Joe on this one.

To me there are only two or three real choices on the democratic side: Dean, Graham ( for President), Clark, Kucinich for VP.
Joe, please spare us and quit our party. We are sick of the despicable role you played in the impeachment of a popular democratic President, we are sick of your cozying up to the
Accounting lobby and help conceal the dimensions of the Enron debacle
which hurt thousands of middle class workers and, now to top it all off you claim this war is just even after all the lies have been exposed. You have not expressed one word of remorse for the dead soldiers and the civilians killed in Iraq.

You are the perfect embodiment of what one of our greatest living writers Gore Vidal has called a "sanctmonious hustler". We will never vote for you and ask that you quit while you are ahead and join the other hustler Zell Miller.

http://www.larouchepub.com/other/2002/2929lieb_mccain.html

The treacherous McCain-Lieberman partnership has been a major fact of life in American politics since no later than the July 4th weekend of 2001, when the two men gathered at McCain's ranch in Arizona. They met to launch their "Bull Moose" campaign to blackmail the Bush Administration into fully adopting the Anglo-American agenda of "perpetual war,"

Haven't read all the responses but when was that ever an issue?

Yes Saddam was brutal dictator. There are brutal dictators in other countries.

Yes there were mass graves... but when did they die and what were the circumstances? There are mass graves in this country. There are mass graves in Texas and Florida.

Lieberman needs to find where he lost his brain.
