U.S. stock futures off sharply; gold, oil up (Futures off more than 2%)
Source: MarketWatch

U.S. stock futures tumbled sharply Wednesday, as investors paused after the previous session’s rally triggered by the Federal Reserve’s intention to keep rates low at least for two more years and European banks slid.

Stock-index futures fell to session lows “just as French banks move to the lowest since April ‘09. Italian banks are also down sharply,” noted Peter Boockvar, equity strategist at Miller Tabak.

Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJ1U -2.22% dropped 170 points to 11,024 and those on the Standard & Poor’s 500 index SP1U -2.42% fell 18.60 points to 1,153.10.

Nasdaq 100 futures ND1U -2.20% slipped 38.25 points to 2,116.75.

3. So far, we've avoided the wild swings that were common to the bush era.
I remember 1,000 point swings in one day. Now that repugs are flexing their muscles, expect more of this. They are NOT good stewards of the economy. Reckless and dangerous.
