Korean Stock Broker Leaps to Death Amid Market Plunge
Source: NBC LA

A South Korean stock broker jumped to his death from a high-rise office amid worldwide market turmoil.

The 48-year-old broker, identified only as "Seo," sent text messages to colleagues expressing regret over severe losses, just minutes before leaping to his death in the city of Daegu, according to Chief investigator Lee Kang-ho.

Lee said Seo's text messages included an apology to his clients. No separate suicide note was found.

South Korean stocks have been especially volatile amid global financial turmoil sparked by fears the U.S. and European economies could be headed for recession.

13. Uhh....
..you DO realize that this was in Korea, right?

I am all for blaming people when they are wrong, but the world economy is not just the US and its stupid policies. This death had sweet FA to do with the Teabaggers or even the US as a whole.

10. Your run of the mill stock broker has nothing to do . . .
. . . with the situation we are in. They are little guys getting pinched, just like a lot of us. Anyone on here happy about this man's suicide should turn in their liberal card and go join the local tea party.

16. A stockbroker is a middleman.

They're not unlike an investment adviser. They build up a reputation by making profitable purchases for their clients over time. If they don't successfully do their job they don't make money, since they work off commission.

This man appears to have been devastated over the losses his clients were suffering( from the article: "Seo's text messages included an apology to his clients"). Yet, for some sick reason some see him as a bad person deserving of the death he sought.

Newsflash: He was not the problem any more than the realtor who sold houses during the housing bubble was the problem. Not that I've heard of any of realtors committing suicide over their clients being upside-down in their homes, but still the point stands.
