London: An ambassador for the upcoming Olympic Games to be held in London in 2012 appeared before the Westminster Magistrates court was charged with burglary, violent disorder and attacking a police car.

Eighteen-year-old Chelsea Ives also led an attack on a mobile phone shop during Sunday's riots, the court has heard.

According to The Sun, her mom Adrienne spotted her on the news, and immediately called the police.

Ives, described as a "talented sportswoman" by her lawyer, is said to have boasted she had "the best day ever", magistrates heard.

LONDON — Portraits of those accused of violence, disorder and looting began to emerge Friday after another day of round-the-clock court hearings in London, Birmingham and Manchester for alleged offenders in Britain's worst unrest in decades.

They included suspects with criminal records, but also a teenage ballerina, the mother of a 6-week-old child, college students, and a gifted track and field athlete who has served as a youth ambassador for the London 2012 Olympics.

Meanwhile, police flooded the streets to maintain an uneasy peace. No major incidents of disorder were reported overnight Thursday.

=snip=

London police said Friday they have charged almost 600 people with violence, disorder and looting. Across the country, more than 1,700 people have been arrested.

1. Well THAT's reassuring!
Especially if you've invested multimillions in the Games.

2. To Hell with the Games! All they are is one huge advertisement
Haven't watched them since 1976. Grew weary of the incessant blabbering of the "sports reporters," the "up close and personal" bore-fests, and the very limited coverage of some events over the "glamorous" ones.

Wake me when they're over...:boring:

3. Good on that mom!
"her mom Adrienne spotted her on the news, and immediately called the police."

How many others would have helicoptered in to protect their precious hellspawn instead of doing the right thing?

4. Sadly, lots of those kind of stories
appearing now. Seems like whatever the original gripe was about
is history. all kinds including the VERY rich are being tagged by
photos. Kind of like the NO-cops caught looting Walmart post Katrina.

Sad.

5. The Olympics are a predatory organization that leaves a wake of destruction
and unpaid bills for local tax payers; all so that a couple athletes can get big endorsements from McDonalds, Nike and who ever else wants to use their image. Sarajevo, Montreal, Atlanta and other cities have suffered the organized looting that is the IOOC.
