Gaddafi says withdrawal from Tripoli compound "tactical"
Source: Reeuters:

(Reuters) - Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi said on Wednesday that his withdrawal from his Bab al-Aziziya headquarters was a "tactical move" after the compound was leveled by 64 NATO air strikes.

Speaking in an address on a local Tripoli radio station, which was reported by Al-Orouba TV, broadcasting in conjunction with Al-Rai TV, Gaddafi also vowed "martyrdom" or victory in his fight against NATO.

(Reporting by Ali Abdelatti, Writing by Sami Aboudi)

Or, as it's described, an "advance to the rear"

7. But NATO played a pretty significant role
Exact numbers aside.

My mom was in the blitz. She said it was hard to keep an accurate count of the bombs when they got too close. It's distracting.

8. Granted, NATO aide does 'speed-up' the fall of that dictatorial regime.
Edited on Tue Aug-23-11 10:23 PM by Amonester
But not all the (almost impossible to count) 'strikes' came from NATO. Many came from shoulder-propelled missiles used by FFs.

12. The biggest, most accurate ones were probably NATO
That's why we spend billions upon billions on planes, bombs and missiles.

17. Impossible to count means that the FFs aren't sitting there tallying each RPG shot...
...as NATO does when they tally each and every single strike and report it.

If the United States was executing protesters wholesale, the President claimed that he would begin purging several cities, street by street, ally by ally, and he sent the Coast Guard to go kill those people (and of course this is all assuming the military follows his orders before that point and doesn't arrest him for treason). And assuming that the United Nations agreed that the President of the United States was acting outside of the responsibility to protect, and voted unanimously to defend the people of the United States...

Then yes, a tactical strike on the White House would be an appropriate course of action.

False equivalence fail.

19. I have no doubt their response will be similar.
Do you have reason to believe that they're indicating something else? Because it's pretty obvious to anyone with a bit of common sense.

BTW, I'm not hiding under an anonymous nickname, nor have I just signed up here after being recently tombstoned.

That's who I am.

23. You were asked how it would be impossible to count the rockets unless it was a multitude.
Then you were informed things that the moderators apparently felt were violations of the rules which I won't repeat (I think it falls under violent overthrow rule).

http://www.wtsp.com/news/topstories/article/206867/250/Gadhafis-son-captured-top-rebel-leader-says

Musa Ibrahim told CNN on Sunday that "more than 65,000 professional men" are fighting in Tripoli, with thousands more flooding in to help defend the regime, and added they "can hold for much longer." He predicted a "humanitarian disaster" unless an immediate ceasefire is called.
