Qaddafi’s Wife and 3 of His Children Flee to Algeria
Source: The New York Times

TRIPOLI, Libya — The wife and three children of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi fled to Algeria on Monday, the Algerian Foreign Ministry said. It was the first official news on the whereabouts of any members of the Qaddafi family since he was routed from his Tripoli fortress by rebel forces a week ago, a decisive turn in the Libyan conflict.

In a brief announcement carried by Algeria’s official news agency APS, the ministry said Colonel Qaddafi’s wife, Safiya, daughter Aisha, and sons Hannibal and Mohammed, accompanied by their children, “entered Algeria at 08:45 a.m. (0745 GMT) through the Algeria-Libyan border.”

The announcement gave no further details. The whereabouts of Colonel Qaddafi himself remain unknown, along with those of his other sons, most notably Seif al-Islam, his second-in-command; Khamis, head of an elite paramilitary brigade; or Muatassim, a militia commander and Colonel Qaddafi’s national security adviser. A rebel spokesman said Sunday that Khamis al-Qaddafi may have been killed on Saturday, but that no positive identification had been made.

Colonel Qaddafi’s mysterious and vexing vanishing act has been the looming question in Libya since the alliance of Libyan rebels invaded Tripoli on Aug. 20, overran his heavily fortified compound on Aug. 23 and finally established control after days of bloody urban street fighting. The rebels have said they will not consider their victory complete until they capture or kill the colonel, who has ruled Libya for 42 years and was the Arab world’s longest-ruling leader.

7. Aljazeera: Gaddafi's wife and three children in Algeria
http://english.aljazeera.net//news/africa/2011/08/2011829171617807937.html

Muammar Gaddafi's wife, two of his sons and his daughters have entered Algeria, according to the Algerian foreign ministry.

"The wife of Muammar Gaddafi, Safia, his daughter Aisha, and sons Hannibal and Mohammed, accompanied by their children, entered Algeria at 08:45am local time <0745GMT> through the Algeria-Libyan border," the ministry said in a statement on Monday published by the APS news agency.

However, it gave no information on the toppled Libyan leader, whose whereabouts has remained a mystery since rebels seized control of most of Tripoli, the Libyan capital, last week.

8. AP: Gadhafi's family fled to Algeria

By BEN HUBBARD - Associated Press | AP – 12 mins ago.

TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) — Ousted Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi's wife and other relatives fled to Algeria Monday, the Algerian foreign ministry said.

The Algerian government said Gadhafi's wife, daughter, two of his sons and their children entered the neighboring country on Monday. It did not say whether Gadhafi himself was with the family.

It said the U.N. secretary-general and Security Council and the head of Libyan rebel National Transition Council were informed.

...

Ahmed Jibril, an aide to rebel National Transitional Council head Mustafa Abdul-Jalil, said if the report of Ghadafi relatives in Algeria is true, "we will demand that Algerian authorities hand them over to Libya to be tried before Libyan courts."

12. Mermaid Aisha, her neighbours had to close their windows
Edited on Mon Aug-29-11 01:29 PM by jakeXT
His daughter Aisha seized a large plot of land in the Noflein district in Tripoli in 2005 and three years later moved into a compound with several luxury houses furnished with unsurpassable vulgarity and poor taste.

In one sitting room there is a sofa with the cushions resting on a gigantic golden bare-breasted mermaid who appears to be holding a dark-red feather duster but is probably meant to be a fan.

Mufat, a local man who had been put in charge of the complex, explained that when Aisha moved in “all her neighbours with windows facing her palace were told to close them and never open them again. If they did so they would be in big trouble.” When her father visited her twice a year the whole district was closed down.

I was expecting a 30 feet long mermaid and all I got was a sofa.

16. **** Gaddafi's son Khamis killed in clash - rebel officer ****

Mon Aug 29, 2011 7:14pm GMT

TRIPOLI Aug 29 (Reuters) - Fallen Libyan strongman Muammar Gaddafi's son Khamis has been killed in a clash near the capital Tripoli, a senior rebel officer said on Monday.

Colonel Al-Mahdi Al-Haragi, in charge of the Tripoli Brigade of the rebel army, said he had confirmation that Khamis was badly wounded in the clash near Ben Walid and Tarhoni.

He was taken to a hospital but died of his wounds and was buried in the area
, Al-Haragi said, without giving the timing. No independent confirmation of the death was available.

A U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters the United States could not yet independently confirm Khamis' death but said similar information was being received in Washington from "reliable sources."

24. How do you, sir, recognize a psy-op when you see one?
It is, perchance, by default anything published in a corporate periodical or broadcast by a western news outlet?

25. no, it would be the systematic reporting of the the same event, then retraction, then same event,
Edited on Mon Aug-29-11 06:48 PM by stockholmer
then retraction, or even more so, never even a retraction, just letting it go down the memory hole, only to resurface yet again and again. Also, planting ludicrous stories like the government troops are being given massive doses of Viagra, to run a raping thru the rebel women, etc.

Saif al-Islam Gadhafi, Muammar's son, was reported captured or killed several times, each time showing up alive and well.

International Criminal Court in the Hague CONFIRMS he is captured:
Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, the son of Col Muammar Gaddafi who was responsible for majority of the regime’s contact with the West, had been detained, officials from the International Criminal Court confirmed.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/libya/8714931/Libya-Saif-al-Islam-Gaddafi-detained-by-rebels-ICC-confirm.html

ooopsie

he is is, the next day........(psy-op FAIL)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-14625205

Same thing is going on with Ghaddifi himself, (ie he has went to Venezuela, then Chad, then South Africa, then Zimbabwe, etc etc etc).

Also, staged events like the fake Green Square that Al Jazeera (a tool of the British MI6) showed a week ago. http://stopwarcrimes.wordpress.com/2011/08/22/al-jazeeras-fake-green-square/

Iraq had the same things going on, like the staged toppling of Saddam statue, Jessica Lynch lies, Pat Tillman, etc etc etc. Same with a plethora of al-Qaeda leaders, some who were reported killed globally 5 or more times as the years flowed by.

So I'm going to call "crap" on that "photo analysis." Particularly as it claims that there was a photoshop job of a fake scenery in Qatar.
