Jesse Ventura: 'I will never stand for the national anthem again.'
Edited on Fri Nov-04-11 09:03 PM by harvey007
Source: MPR

He also said he lost his patriotism and would then refer to the U.S. as the "Fascist States of America." .

"I will never stand for a national anthem again," Ventura said. "I will turn my back and raise a fist the same way Tommy Smith and John Carlos did in the '68 Olympics, Jesse Ventura will do that today."

30. ??? Because he says things like ...
{
Former Gov. Jesse Ventura held a news conference today to criticize the dismissal of his lawsuit against the Transportation Security Administration for the agency's pat downs and full body scanners at the airport. Ventura said he was outraged that the court dismissed his case. He called the judge who dismissed the case and the federal courts in general as "cowards."

"They said they don't have jurisdiction," Ventura told reporters outside of the federal courthouse in St. Paul. "Well my question is if the federal courts don't have jurisdiction over a constitutional question then who the hell does?"
<...>
"I will not be treated like a criminal," Ventura said. "In our airports today, we citizens are treated like criminals. We're guilty until we're proven innocent."
}

In this, I agree with him.

5. Free speech is even for unconventional minds like Ventura.
I read his American Conspiracies book, although that book might not be totally factually accurate it opened my mind to what really happened regarding many historical events.

Drives me crazy when teabaggers and republicans decry "socialism", but do not see any fascism, especially in the republican causus.

38. my country right and if it is wrong
I will do all in my power to make it right. I have nothing against what ventura is saying. My friend was a journalist on the front lines in vietnam, what he saw made him do the same thing ventura is declaring. He told me once he witnessed burned bodies being stacked like cord wood-children included for the infamous body count. Didn't matter if they were the enemy or not.

44. First off; is that what you would tell a woman who was being beaten by her
husband? It's HER fault for not leaving? Second: tried that. I've looked into moving to Canada, New Zealand and France. You have to meet a certain criteria for them to allow you to move to their Countries. No one has an open door policy. Saying "You can go!" is an incredibly ignorant statement. If your Nation is fucked up (which ours IS) it is you DUTY to speak out and try to fix it.

36. Jesse told a bunch of TRUTH.
"He also said he lost his patriotism and would then refer to the U.S. as the "Fascist States of America." .

"I will never stand for a national anthem again," Ventura said. "I will turn my back and raise a fist the same way Tommy Smith and John Carlos did in the '68 Olympics, Jesse Ventura will do that today."

But, Jesse, you got one thing WRONG.
You did NOT lose your patriotism.
You lost your "Nationalism".

You found your "patriotism".

I have a rec for Jesse Ventura.
:patriot:

42. Why does everyone always go after "United"?
Edited on Sat Nov-05-11 02:01 PM by FreeBillClinton
Jesse will drop "United" and replace it with "Fascist"

Republicans want to replace "E Pluribus Unum" with "In God We Trust"

The Knights of Columbus alter our pledge to stick "Under God" right between "One Nation" and "Indivisible"

They're trying to tear us apart!!!!

45. He asks questions that need to be asked.
Piers Morgan just about had apoplexy when Jesse told him why Oswald could not have killed Kennedy.

Jesse is an Expert Marksman and said he could get off three shots in 9 seconds on a "piece of crap bolt-action rifle" (a Mannlicher-Carcano like Oswald used), when Oswald allegedly got three shots off in six seconds.

Piers then called him a "coward" and Jesse said, "Young man, I've seen and done things that would make your hair curl."

Piers was shocked to find out that the government lies to us ALL THE TIME.

Jesse asks a lot of questions. He also explained why politicians want us to "look forward", as in "turn away from Watergate", because they don't want to be held accountable for their crimes.

Piers has a lot to learn.
