Iraq Cops Hit Fallujah Streets (which they just changed to)

Fallujah Erupts Again (mods move if you like)

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/02/24/iraq/main541815.shtml

U.S. and Iraqi forces are expected to begin joint patrols on Thursday, a step aimed at calming tensions in the city. Some U.S. officers have expressed concerns that the patrols could be targeted by militants who refused to surrender their weapons.

---

So this is how we do it: We send out some Iraqi cops to get shot at, then we send in the airpower to target the attackers. When there is little danger to US forces, the Marines join the cops. That way we can say there is a "fierce firefight" with "unknown casualties" without actually getting shot at ourselves. All because some of them killed 4 "contractors" How chicken-shit can you be?

1. Iraqi police...
I don't remember where I read this, and I can't find it right now, so take this for what it's worth.

I did read somewhere that on the order of 300 Iraqi "police" have been killed in the last month in the fighting near Fallujah, or maybe all across Iraq. I guess that's one way to reduce US casualties.

2. Remember, our mission is force protection
We are their to protect the U.S. interets in Iraq, not literally occupy the country by placing a soldier on every street corner.

From a "force protection" stand point, using Iraqi's to draw fire so we can "supress" the enemy fire is a pretty fine idea.

Unless, however, you're an Iraqui police officer or soldier.

I wonder how much that influenced the decision of the brigage of "hostages" we're holding to guarantee the behavior of the rest of the Iraqi defense forces? Did they decide not to attack their country men, or not walk point for the Marines?

5. The Iraqi brigade that refused to fight is confined to barracks
under arrest, essentially.

It's an old story, but I can probably come up with a link.

Try googling on Iraqi army faluja.

7. And don't forget. We can call our soldiers brave, courageous...
I hate that our children are over there in the first place, but the orders they are following make them less than the fierce military the Pentagon makes them out to be. That's the psyops to keep them fighting..telling them they are the best trained and most fierce fighters in the world. The macho is what keeps these frighten, brain-washed kids shooting anything that moves.
