BATTLE OF TRAFALGAR - 11 mutinous sailors quit
EXCLUSIVE: 11 mutinous sailors quit over 270 'safety defects'

By Tom Newton Dunn

ELEVEN mutinous sailors have refused to sail on a "death trap" nuclear submarine.

The crewmen quit refitted HMS Trafalgar furious it was passed as seaworthy despite claims it had 270 safety defects. They face possible court martial and military jail.

The defects include a faulty nuclear reactor, high radiation levels and sub-standard safety equipment. Trafalgar is now on sea trials.

A source said: "When all the problems are put together the submarine is a potential death trap." The Navy said: "We wouldn't allow a boat to sail unless convinced it was fit to do so."

1. Hurry up and die
This is the new motto of our military, apparently, who we are told to "support" all the time by self-righteous Republicans, who then proceed to treat them like expendable resources -- kind of the way they see our environment.

My brother worked for 20 years on nuclear subs for the Navy, and basically when he was done, he was left looking for jobs at pizza parlors.

Be all you can be. I guess if you want a safe nuclear sub, your mom has to buy it and send it from home, just like the body armor.

2. It's the Brits
The Trafalgar is a British Sub. Named for Nelsons victory at Trafalgar against the French, in which he was mortally wounded.

4. JAIL ME SAYS FURIOUS SUBMARINE 'MUTINEER'
By Tom Newton Dunn, Defence Correspondent

HMS Trafalgar mutineer James Metcalf claimed yesterday the nuclear sub was so dangerous he feared for the crew's life.

The sonar operator, father of two-year-old Ellie-Mae, said: " I've never seen a boat in such poor condition. It's fair to describe it as a death trap.

"Seeing my little girl again is more important to me than going to sea. I'm not going to leave her without a dad because of defence cuts.

"I expect they'll do me for disobeying an order. That's a maximum of two years in the glasshouse. But I don't give a stuff."

James, 25, is one of three Trafalgar crewmen refusing to go back on board the sub "at any price".
