Sept 11 Commission Quotes
~snip~
"The president was forthcoming and very animated in describing not only the events of that day but in leading us through his thinking both on that day and in developing policy before 9/11 and after 9/11." _Commission Chairman Thomas Kean, former Republican governor of New Jersey.

---
"It was a very good meeting. I do think it'll help - in particular the president's description of what happened during 2001 and most particularly on 9/11. The president's narrative was important to give." _Democratic commissioner Bob Kerrey, former Nebraska senator.

---

"While the president did most of the answering of the questions, the vice president was able to fill in some things, particularly when they were not at the same place at the same time, which helped us get a fuller picture." _Republican commissioner James Lehman, former Navy secretary.

20. Simple: Kerrey is a pro-PNAC asshole.
For example, he was on the Committee for the Liberation of Iraq, a group chock full of rightwing AEI and PNAC types. Just look at the membership list.

Fuck Kerrey.

18. here's one, not a direct quote...but interesting
One Democrat on the panel -- Richard Ben-Veniste -- says he's satisfied that commission members had enough time to ask questions. He says nothing was lost by meeting with Bush and Cheney at the same time.
http://www.news24houston.com/content/headlines/?ArID=28006&SecID=2

Perhaps, nothing was lost, because nothing was gained.

I't'll be awhile,

But stuff WILL leak out,

Besides, the whole world is a'buzzin' with why the most powerful man in the world is afraid to testify in public.

We'll make our own conclusions mR. pResident.

17. Animated
I'm seeing some scratching, some "wink wink, nudge, nudge, you-know what-I mean, you-know-what-I-mean." I'm seeing some crotch grabbing, some butt slapping. Maybe a little bit of Macarena or some hip hop. Maybe tossing back a few and yucking it up.

Yeah, animated.

21. I believe calling the traitor 'very animated'...
...is simply a testimony to Cheney's superb ventriloquist skills.

24. hmm. "the president did most of the answering of the questions"
and "the vice president was able to fill in some things". I guess I just assumed all along that the point of having Junior and Cheney appear together was to protect Junior from embarrassing himself, and to keep their stories straight. Now I read this, and I start to wonder if this all wasn't to protect Cheney instead. It was probably a safe bet that the commission would concentrate on Junior, and Cheney wouldn't get a lot of direct pointed questions, as he might appearing on his own. Not that Dicky would hesitate to lie to the commission anyhow.

Private hearing, no oath, no tape, no transcript. Feh.

26. This made me physically ill
It is so vile that these other chumps will just close ranks and protect this pathetic excuse for a human being--never mind a president--just to spare him the embarrassment of being put on the spot, of maybe having to answer some questions that he wasn't passed ahead of time to prepare for, or maybe sparing us sitting through him wondering when something will "pop into his head."

Please: all of these bastards are participating in a criminal conspiracy to cover up multiple impeachable offenses. The fact that as a result of some of those impeachable offenses they have perpetrated aggressive war upon another nation puts them officially in the indictable-for-war-crimes category. I hope they make me the prosecuter: I'd love to see these bastards dangle.
