US Marines offer to help repair Iraq mosques
US Marines have offered to help repair and improve mosques in western Iraq, where US forces destroyed a minaret in Falluja this week because they said it was being used by guerrillas fighting against them.

The Marines made the offer during a meeting with 51 imams and the governor of al-Anbar province, which includes Falluja, where U.S. Marines on Monday destroyed a minaret they say was being used by insurgents.

"The mosque repair proposal would consist of funding $1,200 worth of projects for each mosque, employing about 10 people per project slated to last about two weeks," a statement issued by the Marines late on Friday said.

2. Another Halliburton contract?
More US taxpayer dollars to line the pockets of Kellog, Brown
and Root?
OOPS, we got caught torturing Iraqi civilians, so we'll
rebuild a mosque and bill the American citizens to make nice
for the atrocities commited in their names?
PERRRRfect.

7. "$1,200 worth of projects for each mosque" - well, whoopdeefeckingdoo
.
.
.

10 people, 2 weeks work, lets see - if they do 40 hr weeks,

10 people at 40 hrs = 400 hours, x2 = 800 hours

That's a whole 3 bucks an hour,

well,

minus whatever materials they may need

whoopdeefeckingdoo

11. hire everyone in the country.
a soldier was only making $60/month. right?

$2/hour x 40hours/week x 50weeks/year x 23,000,000iraqis = $92 billion/year.

hire them all. put the green in their hand.

then the hotheads can have a job and can get married and can get laid.

wage peace----dabble at war.

13. Well, at least we know they'll be using Iraqi labor.
Pathetic. We'll repair it and everything will be fine.

Insane, even.

8. another thought - $1200 for a mosque, how much for a dead Iraqi?
.
.
.

What's an average life ins. policy payout in Murikka -

1 million for accidental maybe ?

Around 20,000 dead Iraqis at the hands of the Murikkans

That's just 20 billion,

1/5th of what they've spent to blow the place up so far

Then there's all that infrastructure they blew up

And the ongoing illness and death from all the Depleted Uranium they've spread around.

I'd say that conservatively the US should be paying around 100 Billion in reparations.

Maybe a whole lot more.

14. What a great way..
to get blueprints of the shit you plan on invading next week. 1,200 bucks, thanks for the new shoe rack. Give them the money and let them rebuild the damn thing. I have a damn desk job and I could rebuild a blown-up wall. I'm sure the average Iraqi has more construction experience then our troops. Just another way to siphon our cash to the Bush supporters.

And what I mean by that. Once the 1,200 goes through yadda, yadda one hundred will reach the troops to spend on the projects. I hope that made sense.
