Honduran Troops Start Iraq Pullout
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20040511/wl_nm/iraq_honduras_troops_dc&cid=574&ncid=1473

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Honduran troops in Iraq (news - web sites) have started to withdraw and are expected to be out of the country in about two weeks, a coalition military official said on Tuesday.

"The process is ongoing and is to be finished by May 27," said a spokesman for the Polish-led international contingent in place across southern and central Iraq, where the Hondurans are deployed.

Honduran President Ricardo Maduro, visiting Japan, said some Honduran troops had already left Iraq.

"It is with satisfaction we can officially announce ... that we have begun the withdrawal of our soldiers from Iraq and that some of them are already in Kuwait," Maduro's office said in a statement.

2. What are you talking about? The article said almost 400 are there
And the pullout is none too soon IMO. Even the Russians have told all their people to get the heck out pronto.

5. Sorry, just kidding...
400 troops is serious business, I just don't know if a group of 20 nations with such small relative troop presence constitutes a "coalition".

Even the Brits are talking withdrawl soon.

4. We are losing this war and I wished we would get out now also
I feel for the troops and families who have to suffer because of Bush & Co's desire for world domination.

We don't have enough people in uniform to keep the lid on this mess and I don't want to see a draft to continue it.

I saw Richard Pearl on C-SPAN and he didn't have one bit of remorse for this war. He just repeated everything he said before and that Chalibi should run the government of Iraq. I wanted to reach through the TV and ring his neck.

6. "I don't want to see a draft "....A draft wouldn't help a bit.

By the time a draft was put in place, the recruits put thru basic training, and their MOS training, the iraqis will have pushed out troops out of iraq altoghter. And maybe will have taken over Kuwait in the bargain.

This mess is lost. In fact it was lost before it began, as many of us tried to say in the run up to this war.

Thanks george. We had a functioning nation before you stole your way into the white house. I hope you enjoy the rest of your life in prison after we try you for treason.

7. Better tell that to Kerry. He's wrong on Iraq.
If you want to avoid a draft, go to work now on John Kerry. Write and call his campaign, and tell them you expect Kerry to take the proper stand on this issue: withdrawal of US troops from Iraq.

Otherwise, if Kerry wins, you may face a very unpleasant surprise in 2005. The extra trooops he wants to send to Iraq aren't going to be pulled out of thin air.
