AUGUSTA -- Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins gave the Republicans at the Augusta Civic Center a one-two punch Saturday morning.
Snowe, who was honored for 25 years of service in Congress, recounted many of President Bush's accomplishments and praised his leadership through difficult times.
Collins pepped up the crowd, taking jabs at Democrats and unveiling a red T-shirt with a huge white "W" on the back, which she said stands not only for George W. Bush, but for getting more Republicans into office by winning.

She (Snowe) praised Bush for adding a prescription drug benefit to Medicare, cutting taxes and working to extend health benefits to small businesses. Collins said he delivered on many of his campaign promises, including bringing accountability to education spending and returning "honor and dignity to the White House."

The GOP convention in Maine had a little over 1,000 delegates. The Democratic Convention next week has about 2,500 already pre-registered. I drove by the GOPs yesterday and one could not tell there was any sort of political event happening. No signs, no people, nothing!
