(Gov)Napolitano travels to address union
Gov. Janet Napolitano was in San Francisco Thursday addressing the United Food & Commercial Workers Union.

Napolitano said Wednesday she would talk to the UFCW about future relations between business and labor.

The UFCW is one of the most influential labor groups in Arizona. The union opposed a business-backed unemployment insurance bill that was vetoed by Napolitano. The union is also a leading opponent of a Wal-Mart anchored redevelopment plan for the Los Arcos mall site in south Scottsdale.

The UFCW is a vocal critic of Wal-Mart because of the Arkansas-based retailer's anti-union business model.

UFCW and other union were strong backers of Napolitano and the Arizona Democratic Party during the 2002 election cycle.
