CANNES, France (Reuters) - After winning the top prize at Cannes for his anti-Bush documentary, American filmmaker Michael Moore said he hoped the President had not been eating a pretzel when he heard the news.

Moore admitted to one regret after accepting the Palme d'Or on Saturday -- he forgot to thank George W. Bush for providing the funniest lines in "Fahrenheit 9/11", a blistering attack on Bush's handling of Iraq and the war on terror.

Asked what he thought Bush's reaction might be to the award, he told a packed news conference: "He is probably choking on a pretzel or something. I hope nobody tells him that I have won this award while he is eating a pretzel."

Bush fainted in 2002 after choking on a pretzel while watching a football game on television.

Maybe if he only eats the soft ones, and leaves the hard salty ones alone---you know, the COWBOY pretzels!!

Bush wouldn't have a clue about any award named Palme d"Or, the city of Cannes, or even what the title of the movie relates too.

I do have a prediction though. Movie chains will refuse to show this movie.

...because of their agreements with Miramax and their dislike of Disney's hamfisted style. This movie WILL make money like it's going out of style. The other chains will cave-in when they realize the profits they're going to be passing up. Additionally, I predict that this movie will absolutely SHATTER any previous record for the sale of videotapes and DVDs. The demand for this movie is already surpassing anything seen before.

Moore has created the classic 800 pound gorilla, and it's going to sleep any damn place it wants to.

NEVER in my life have Michael Moore's words seemed so right. So fitting. He even said last week that "Bush should sue him for rights to the dialog", since Bush screws up so many times and everybody gets to laugh at Bush's expense.

Maybe there is Justice, after all.
