Poll: Kerry Maintains Big Lead Over Bush in Calif.
http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=politicsNews&storyID=5260430

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Democratic Sen. John Kerry continues to hold a double-digit lead over President Bush in California, which boasts the nation's biggest electoral prize, according to a poll released on Wednesday.

The Field Poll said presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kerry leads Bush 55 percent to 40 percent in the nation's most populous state.

Support for Kerry, which the poll said stemmed largely from a desire to unseat Bush, rose from 53 percent in February among Californians likely to vote in the November presidential election, the poll said. Five percent of voters were undecided.

Weren't the Repigs crowing early this year that they'd challenge Kerry in California?

I think zogby or cnn did a poll that had Kerry under 50 and with just a single digit lead in CA and everybody was like, yeah go fuck yourself this is bullshit

9. That was not a Zogby poll
He didn't poll California, just 16 battleground states. That poll with a 1-point edge for Kerry in Calif. was done weeks ago.

2. The GOPigs think that Michigan is a tight race, too
I don't think they poll in Detroit. If Detroit continues to turn out like they did in 2000 and the 2002 mid-term elections, Kerry should win fairly easily.

Bush is making a huge mistake in Michigan at the moment. The ultimate swing county, Macomb, has had serious flooding with lots of homes of potential GOP voters destroyed. It doesn't look like there's going to be any FEMA assistance, which is just beyond belief. If Bush can't carry Macomb County (the third largest), he can't carry Michigan.

4. I think we'll have to work hard for MI
I live here in Rochester Hills and I am trying to get all the local clubs to meet together, encourage info sharing, meetups etc.
I'm working like we're 10pts behind so that Ohio will be that much more of a lock for Kerry

5. I live in SoCal and figured Kerry lead probably like 60-40. This doesn't
surprise me. What is surprising is that Shrub has been running a lot of his commercials out here?? I hadn't seen any recent CA polls so I was wondering if maybe CA was close but I knew as Dem as CA is no way! So I can only figure he's running so many commercials out here b/c GOP thought it CA would be close or they just want Kerry to waste his $$$ in CA matching shrubs commercials in a state that Kerry will win. Appears Kerry didn't take the bait b/c I've seen tons of * commercials out here and a lot less of Kerry's. I'd venture a guess for every 3 of *'s commercials you'll see 1 of Kerry's. So in reality, Bush is the one who is wasting his $$$ in CA!!!! :)

12. If Bush is running a lot of commercials in California his $200 million is
not going to last until the Pubbie convention. Maybe Kerry will get the last laugh yet on campaign dollars.

6. New poll shows Bush, Kerry in dead heat in Florida
President Bush and Sen. John Kerry are in a statistical dead heat in Florida less than six months before the presidential election, according to a new Zogby International poll. The poll surveyed voters in 16 battleground states that have been besieged by more than $115 million of television advertisements supporting the candidates.

In Florida, 49 percent of likely voters support Kerry, 48 percent prefer Bush and 1 percent choose independent Ralph Nader, according to the poll, which has a margin of error was 3.4 percentage points.

Negative commercials about Kerry, many of which bill him as untrustworthy, seem to have influenced some voters, experts said. The poll showed 51 percent of likely voters in Florida hold a negative impression of Kerry, while 48 percent hold a favorable impression.

10. That Florida poll is like many recent ones
Kerry is very competitive there. The good news is, if he wins Ohio and New Hampshire and keeps the blue states, he won't need Florida. It's ironic that his unfavorslbe rating exceeds his favorable rating, yet he still has a slight lead on Bush. That doesn't say much for the incumbent, does it?

16. Send CLINTON to Florida!!!
Older people, I've found, LOVE Clinton. He's a fun guy, and endearing. I think President Clinton should be on the groundon Arkansas and Florida 24-7. He can carry both states for us.

Send the VP to Ohio along with Kerry, and this will be a turkey shoot.

Keep Gore working in Tennessee.

7. Yet a auditable
paper trail will NOT be available there until AFTER November. I don't discount the possibility of a chimp "upset" in California.

big Kerry lead tomorrow?

14. The pictures of the Iraq prisoner abuse were only "snapshots" as well.
Snapshots can reveal a lot of information. Consider them in context, but it would be foolish not to pay any attention to them.

17. Polls can show us where we need to work...
and what the general feeling is, I think. Plus they're a lot of fun! I don't like sports, which is probably why I love politics so much.

Go Team!
