FOR IMMEDATE RELEASE [gop.com]
another example of the "no matter what happens, say the same thing" routine that the rethugs are trapped in, since they have no real response to anything Gore had to say about bushco.

Washington, DC—RNC Communications Director Jim Dyke issued the following statement today in response to a speech by former Vice President Al Gore attacking President Bush.

“Al Gore served as Vice President of this country for eight years. During that time, Osama Bin Laden declared war on the United States five times and terrorists killed US citizens on at least four different occasions including the first bombing of the World Trade Center, the attacks on Khobar Towers, our embassies in East Africa, and the USS Cole.”

“Al Gore’s attacks on the President today demonstrate that he either does not understand the threat of global terror, or he has amnesia.”

1. Well, when the country stops LAUGHING at those statements
the GOP will probably do exactly as Al says, just as they did when he suggested * fire his whole economic team, and shortly thereafter, * did exactly that.

3. They have to get their original ideas from SOMEWHERE...
Can't come up with meaningful policy from within. Kinda like exporting jobs...they just import ideas.

4. Right back at ya GOP
“George Bush has served as President of this country for more than 3 years. During that time, Osama Bin Laden (Not Saddam Hussein) attacked the United States on 9/11 - the most horrific attack on American soil and the greatest US Intelligence failure ever. No one was held accountable or was fired after the attack.”

11. No, no --
-- It's all Roosevelt's fault! If he hadn't pulled us out of the Great Depression, we wouldn't have the kind of society Al Quaida wants to destroy!

6. More doublespeak from Repubs.
They essentially said Al Gore is either an idiot or he forgot?

That speech of was anything but idiotic or amnesiac. It was both intelligent and inspired.

9. Typical Pub retort, attack the messenger
use Distortion/Blame/Distraction.

Its such a childish immature response to Gores speech.

Denigrate the Messenger. PsyOps 101.7, see Opi's thread later.

8. And FratBoy understood the threat so well that we lost nearly 3000...

...people on 911. We have also invaded two countries in the Middle East at the cost of approximately one thousand additional American lives, one of which had no connection to terrorism, and neither had WMDs.

When you compare the two, legally-elected President Gore or the FratBoy Fuhrer, what jumps out at you? Who REALLY has the amnesia?

12. He left off how if the Repubs had listened to Gore, most of those attacks
would have been stopped. Gore and Clinton fought terrorism, and every effort they made was blocked by the Repubs. Every thing Bush did after 9-11 to stop terrorism was an idea or bill proposed by Clinton and Gore, and opposed and defeated by the Republicans before 9-11. By their own admission, since they adopted all of Gore's ideas, Gore was right, they were wrong.

15. I suppose capturing and imprisoning all those who committed those
deeds without ruining our constitution, creating a huge bureacuracy or spending billions of dollars on ONLY his closest friends is a pretty awful record!

What garbage.
