WASHINGTON (AP)The United States will allow imports of some Canadian boneless meat products and game animals to resume by the end of the month, bringing relief to Canada's beef industry.
The restrictions being lifted were put in place in mid-May because of Canada's lone case of mad cow disease.
Hunters can immediately start bringing some wild meat into the United States for personal use if they have the proper papers.
The Agriculture Department also will begin processing import permit applications for game animal and boneless meat products from Canada, which comprise about 40% of the annual $1.1 billion in Canadian beef products normally exported to the United States. ---
