Clinton supports Kerry strategy
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5078608/

Former President Clinton said Thursday that Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry is smart not to comment daily on every development in Iraq because “he recognizes that he’s not the president.”

Speaking at his office in Harlem, Clinton said he didn’t think the Massachusetts senator was running “too safe a campaign” as some political strategists have suggested. Among the criticism is that Kerry is failing to exploit increasing skepticism about President Bush’s handling of the war.

“He recognizes that he’s not the president, and he’s not, he’s the candidate for president, he’s not somebody that’s supposed to give day-by-day commentary on events,” Clinton said. “He’s made quite clear what he believes about the major issues in the news today, and I think he’s shown a certain reticence.”

'Quite appropriate'
The former president said that “given the seriousness of the problems we face in the world today, I think it’s been quite appropriate.”

1. Several have said this. And I read that Lee Atwater, the infamous
campaign guru, once said that you shouldn't do anything while your opponent is shooting himself. So Kerry is right to remain on the sidelines while Bush is shooting himself.

(forgot his name) on Hardball tonight say basically the same thing. "Hold the ammunition till you see the white of their eyes" because there will plenty of time to see if need to fire cause the enemy/opponent just may fall on his own sword.

7. It was Tony Coelho, former Congressman and campaign
chairman for Al Gore. I saw that segment and find it interesting that so many analysts on both sides are saying the same thing.

3. Also prevents foot in mouth disease
Which occurs when you criticize someone and then get proven wrong, or in this case, the media claims you are wrong. Happened to Gore a lot. Kerry's silence means Bush has nothing to latch on to to divert attention from his own failure.

4. I had Freeper e-mail in my mailbox today...grrrrrr!
It came from a site called "keep media"

http://www.keepmedia.com/HomePage.do?extID=10026

The e-mail was littered with at least 10 news sites.
Each news site, a major publication, carried a negatively
connotated story with a link.

example: "Kerry is struggling to get his message out."
another: "Kerry is struggling to be heard."
another: "Kerry is struggling on the War in Iraq."

All the new sites listed..newsweek, business week, the atlantic etc.
all positing the same theme.."Kerry is struggling"

and oddly enough without a link to be removed from the mailing list unless you joined first. Of course, I e-mailed them and demamded to be removed from their list.

what the? Is this another Rovian trick?
