US forces under attack
U.S. Army Under Mortar, Grenade Attacks in Iraq

Filed at 1:59 a.m. ET

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Guerrillas in Iraq fired mortars or rocket-propelled grenades at U.S. occupation forces overnight in four towns, but there were no immediate reports of casualties.

A U.S. military spokesman said on Thursday three mortar attacks took place in Ramadi.

Rocket-propelled grenades were fired at the U.S. 4th Infantry Division in Tikrit, the home town of former president Saddam Hussein.

A mortar was launched at a U.S. logistics base near Balad, the spokesman said.

Iraqi witnesses said rocket-propelled grenades were fired at a station for U.S.-backed Iraqi police and a municipality building in Falluja, 50 km (30 miles) west of Baghdad.

My comment.... Boyoboyoboy! Looks like these "criminal elements" and "desperate remnants" are really on the run.

Gag.

1. Gotta hand it to Bush ...
He figured out how to stop domestic threats to security: let people who want to kill Americans order delivery!

Seriously, it makes my mind boggle that anyone would be incapable of figuring this out: the only Americans Iraqis are capable of threatening are the ones we send there to get shot at. The surefire way to stop all these attacks: bring the damn troops home. You can't really "lose" a war you had no right to be fighting anyhow.

3. Amen
Bring 'Em Home.
This needs to stop now.
Bring 'Em Home.
Bush is such a f--kup, he got us in this mess, and it's clear he hasn't a clue how to end it. He is unfit to command them. Bring 'Em Home.

4. I am sick to death of these phony numbers
The Pentagon gets to classify who died in "hostile fire" and who died in "accidents". Nevermind that most of these "accidents" occur while engaged in combat. This is an insult to us families of soldiers over there and the American people. Why are the press going along with this? Did this happen during Vietnam?

6. It's a "cost saving" measure...
...so they don't have to pay as much for a military death as opposed to an 'accidental' death. Fraud you say? It's the Bush Republican way...

5. Just yesterday...
...CENTCOM was all over, telling everyone they were "boldly baiting" the "Saddam sympathizers" by using US troops as bait. What was it Bush said, "Bring 'em on"? So now that they've taken the bait, what? You think they are going to just "run out" of people that hate the invaders? I DESPISE George W Bush, but by god, if a foreign power invaded my home, took my guns, left me without basic necessities, stood by while criminals looted my home, and broadcast the VeggieTales to my children, I'd be DAMNED PISSED and ready to take some bait so to speak.

"Bring 'em on" indeed...

7. Attacks on U.S. soldiers continue - CBS
U.S. troops survey the damage to a Bradley armored vehicle in the town of Khan Dari, west of Baghdad, on Tuesday. The driver was injured in the blast when an anti-tank mine exploded under the vehicle.

8. This line just stings with incredulity.
U.S. FORCES have come under increasing attack by insurgents loyal to Saddam Hussein in recent weeks.

Is this idea just rote? Do these insurgents attack, then spray paint "Saddam Hussein wuz here" graffiti?

Do the people who write this crap ever consider that the insurgency just might be soldiers who would be happier without both Saddam Hussein and Americans in their country?
